If you could go any city in America for 48 hours where would you go?

This is my friend Matt.  Matt and I met on a tour when he was working with David Crowder and I was working with Third Day.  Matt was usually running around working a lot harder than I was, and seemed to never get much credit.  That made me appreciate Matt.

What’s funny and sad about tours is that it’s likely that you won’t ever tour with those people again.  Imagine living with someone for three months, but not only living with them but traveling the country with them, eating with them, working with them, and even sleeping within feet of them.  Imagine that and then at the end of that three months saying, “see ya around” and that’s it.  It’s a weird way to have friends.

Matt is now working up at Rob Bell’s church and is in charge of all sorts of things.  I don’t really know what he does, but I know people answer to him because he’s kinda big and scary.  What’s awesome about Matt is that I can literally count on hearing from him at least once a week, and any time Apple comes out with something new.  A few weeks back Kristin and I we able to go to Matt’s wedding and have an amazing time getting away and hanging out.  I love the fact that even though we were only on one tour together and even hung out sporadically on that tour Matt and I are still able to remain friends and stay in contact.  Thanks Matt.

Any of you have friends you don’t see much but stay in contact with regularly?

I’m leaving tonight for another quick trip out with Phil.  This time we are flying in to Baltimore and driving up to a festival called “Creation East”.  Or maybe it’s just called “Creation” and there is one in the west and in the “East”  or maybe it’s just called “Creation” and the “East” is implied.  Either way I am headed there tonight.  It’s in Pennsylvania, which is “East” of here.

Because of where we are flying in and where the festival is Phil and I noticed a little place on the map right in between the two.  I have never been to Gettysburg and neither has Phil, so we thought there was no better time than now to see it.  I’ll try to make sure to get some cool pictures if I get a chance.

Also if you haven’t yet, make sure to head over to Brian’s blog and read his entry for the 40 Day Fast about the Global Food Crisis.

I’ll try to update some this week, but I will be in a car a lot.  Maybe another trip in pictures is in order?

Randy flew in last night about nine-thirty and now he officially lives here.  It’s a little weird but it’s cool that we can officially get going on the company.  We left the airport and stopped in at McCreary’s for a cool adult beverage.  After a brief tour around the town we headed back to our house.

Randy’s staying with us for a while until he figures out what he wants to do, but for the time being it will be cool to be able to work in the same room.  We’ve got some big plans for the Fee guys, so look for that soon.  Also it will be nice to be able to not have to deal with time zone differences, waiting for emails, and communicating across the country.  I’m hoping we can be a lot more productive in the same town and same house for a while.

From what Randy remembers this is the furthest East he has been, except for one time when he was little.  What’s the furthest you have been from your house.  For Vacation, work, anything.  Where’s the furthest place you have traveled?

I went to Jamaica last year.  That seemed like it was pretty far.

Featured in AlltopSo, check this out. I got this email yesterday saying that I was added to AllTop.com in the Life Section sharing the page with some other awesome blog friends like Anne Jackson and the cool kids at  “Are We Still Cool”.   It turns out that we are living life and documenting it well enough to either make the folks and AllTop feel bad for us, or want to add us to their list.  Pretty sweet eh?

In other news, I am sitting in a hotel bed with a paper cup half full of coffee, getting ready to head out on the road for the next twelve hours.  Kristin and I had a great trip.  It’s been nice to get away for a few days and just refresh.  Now it’s the long ride home, but shortly after our marriage we realized that we liked to drive, we liked hanging out and we liked snacks.  So if we have those things today, we will be good.  Check out my Twitter if for whatever reason your Sunday is so unbelievably slow that you are wondering where we are on our journey.

We are throwing together the last few things that we need for our trip and getting the “large” and “medium boys ready to stay with Kristin’s dad.  I think we’ve got everything ready.  We have our Death Cab album as a handful of others to accompany our drive.  The car is cleaned out and full of very expensive gas, and I think even the tire pressure is okay.

So, while I am staring at the road for the next twelve or thirteen hours I thought I would steal something that I saw over at Without Wax the other day.  Here’s how it works.  I will start with a question and the forst person to answer it asks another question.  That way we can all get to know each other.  So, here goes.

If you could take a road trip anywhere where would you go?

Have a great day.  Ready?  Go.

Tomorrow morning Kristin, Cooper and I are taking off to Grand Rapids.  A friend of mine is getting married and I was asked to take some pictures of the wedding.  It’s a little in intimidating to be the “photographer”, but I’m not calling it that, so it makes me fell better.  Matt used to be the road manager for the David Crowder Band and now is the Technical Director at Rob Bell’s church in Grand Rapids.  Rob’s doing the wedding so that should be a pretty interesting to hear.  It’s going to be a great day for Matt and Hannah and it’s cool we get to be a part of it.  It’s interesting where this photography thing has taken me.  I never planned on being a photographer, but for some reason opportunities keep popping up.  I still love the creativity of it, and don’t know if I could do it for a job.  I wouldn’t want to start not liking it.

We have little to no agenda driving up there and the wedding isn’t until Saturday so we are taking our time getting up there.  One thing we do plan on doing tomorrow is stopping in Chicago for dinner.  This is one of the first times in a really long time that Kristin and I will be able to travel together and have time to actually hang out.  She has never been to Chicago, so we figured it was a perfect time to drop in and at least see a little bit of the city and grab some dinner.  Then on to Grand Rapids.

Today will be a day of making sure everything is packed, the car is cleaned, the new Death Cab record is on the iPod, and the big boys are ready to stay at Kristin’s dad’s house.  The boys are still asleep so I better get started.
