Stats Suck Sunday – In Bullet Points

  • I went to see “Traitor” last night with Steve Fee, ran into this guy and his wife and stayed out too late.
  • We played a Lenny Kravitz song at church today.  It was a lot easier than I expected it to be.  I absolutely don’t have enough “cool” in me to pull that one off though.
  • Some guy told me at church today that my guitar playing sounded like someone I had never heard of.  I said “thanks” and now am wondering if that was a compliment.
  • I burned the top of my mouth on coffee this morning.  I wish I hadn’t done that.
  • Been thinking a lot about the folks in New Orleans this morning.  Hopefully everyone gets out.
  • I’ve got two or three meetings this week, but am excited to focus on some work.
  • I realized this week I like taking cold showers in the middle of the day with no lights on and I don’t care if that makes me weird.
  • I’m ready for Winter…. but will settle for Fall

What’s your Sunday looking like?

Stats Suck Sunday – In Bullet Points

  • I heard the other day about a story where a guy won around six million dollars in the lottery and wanted to give his church six hundred thousand dollars.  The pastor of his church “respectfully declined” to take the money because of the way it was acquired.
  • I’ve been trying to figure out how people find time to read recreationally.
  • Dora is one pushy little girl.  I’m glad she wasn’t at Blue’s party yesterday.
  • I’m playing in a Fantasy Football league this year with the MercyMe guys, and a group of other guys.  They are all “into sports” and I have no idea what I am doing.
  • I think we may be done with Summer here, in Tennessee.  I’m ready to wear a sweatshirt.
  • We may have two exciting announcements this week on the SkörInc front, but I don’t want to jump the gun.
  • The Legos Indiana Jones game for Playstation is awesome.  I like games you can’t die on, because I suck at video games.
  • I wish my wife and I were in a small hotel room in Italy.  One with a balcony.

There it is folks.  That’s what’s going on in my head this morning. Nothing too exciting, but that’s what I get for staying up too late staring at a computer. For those of you just tuning in, here’s how “Stats Suck Sunday” works. It’s completely random and there’s no real point. Typically everyone’s stats are pretty bad on Sunday so it’s a day where you can spit out something with the expectation of little to no interaction. What random thoughts are people not reading on your blog today?

  • Early mornings still mess me up bad.
  • Turns out softball batting practice messes me up pretty bad too.
  • Girl gymnasts in the Olympics kind of creep me out.  They are like tiny bodybuilding men.
  • More than once I’ve wanted to swim with dolphins.  Tonight we watched the boys and I watched a show where some guy was swimming with dolphins.  I wanted to be him for a second… until I fell asleep.
  • I found a new band that you will all love, but I’m not telling you who it is yet because I don’t really want to.
  • Three Hundred and fifty seven of you downloaded Daniel’s song the other day.  I think that’s neat of you.  I hope you all went and bought the rest of the record.
  • Every one of you made Phil’s record release what it was, and I can’t thank you enough.
  • Some gymnast girl just almost fell on her head.

There it is folks.  That is why my stats sucked today.  A couple other things to look forward to this week including another letter to the Christian Music Industry.  Have a great night.  Enjoy watching the man/girls flipping around on the floor.

  • I had a dream last night that I was the owner of a superhero dog.  He could fly and was really strong, kinda like Underdog but a little taller.  He made other dogs look stupid.
  • For “Stats Suck Sunday” Dan has written an entire post about getting a pedicure.  I think he wrote it in the hopes that he stats would suck and no one would actually read it.
  • Apparently we like to talk about alcohol on this blog here.  I’m glad that nobody got offended, and maybe sometime soon we can have the “morality” discussion like Lisa suggested.
  • Sometimes I wish I had that phone that recognized songs when I pointed it at music I was hearing.
  • I’m not sure if that phone really exists or if I made that up.
  • I just finished designing the cover for Phil’s new live record.  It took a long time but looks kind of cool.
  • Eventually I will get to see the new Batman movie.  Everyone I have talked to said they liked it.  Everyone but Brant, but I don’t think Brant likes very many things.
  • I bet health clubs in suburbs make a grip of money.  Maybe I could start a gym in my garage.

Welcome to Sunday.  You know the drill.  We all know that stats suck on Sunday’s so us Sunday bloggers need to band together.  This really isn’t one of those blog carnival things that has a point, but that’s because stats suck today.  So the big question is, what are people (not) reading on your blog today?  Let’s hear it.

  • Camping in a trailer park is awesome.
  • Sleeping on metal cots held up by three stacked bricks is not awesome.
  • The Killers, “Sam’s Town” record is still one of the best driving records out there.
  • Some of the new iPhone apps are pretty cool.  I like using my phone as a remote control.
  • More pictures were added to the Crowder MySpace page.  It’s fun to see those being used.
  • I watched this movie this morning.  It was the crappiest movie I have ever seen.  I feel bad for the kids in it.
  • I’m a little jealous of Randy’s new blog theme.
  • I wish my hair didn’t look like a brown Q-tip.  It’s embarrassing.  Even in Wal-Mart.
  • We are skipping church today to catch up on things before the weeks starts.  Jesus still likes me.
  • I sold my guitars on ebay with the idea of getting a guitar that I love.  Now I think I can.  I’m excited to start shopping.
  • I still want to be a National Geographic photographer someday.  This guy is close.

So there it is.  Sunday in bullet points.  I’m sure there will be something more interesting to talk about later today but for now, what randomness are you blogging today?

  • Forth of July is over and I only have one burn on my arm and a few holes in my shirt.
  • I played a Fee song, a Crowder song, and a Leeland song at church today.
  • Fee songs, Crowder songs, and Leeland songs sound better when they play them.
  • I saw Hancock yesterday.  And I saw the second movie that started in the middle of Hancock and went a completely different direction.
  • That last one made more sense in my head.
  • Sometimes I wish I could be addicted to caffeine.
  • Phil is getting married and that’s pretty cool.
  • I’m a bad speller when it comes to words that sound the same but are spelled differently.  (Forth/Fourth, Course/Corse, There/Their) I hate them because they make me look stupid.
  • I’m officially in a fight with the English language
  • Why does Bank Of America put a hold on a tax refund check “pending approval”?  Seems like they’d let that one slide.
  • I’m officially in a fight with Bank Of America.

So, this is Stats Suck Sunday.  Welcome to it.  This is the place to come with little expectation of anything for the day.  This is also a place where you can link to the most random things you want.  Wanted to blog about a picture of your goldfish?  Today’s the day.  I know most of this makes no sense but it doesn’t need to.  Happy Sunday.  What random things are you blogging today?

  • Happy Father’s Day to all you dads out there.  If you aren’t a dad, but have one, you should buy him a Starbucks Double Shot On Ice.
  • I got up at 6:00 this morning to play at church.  I didn’t wake up until just now because I am drinking a Starbucks Double Shot On Ice.
  • We played a Fee song at church today, but I didn’t know the name of it until I talked to Steve after church.  Then I felt bad for not knowing the name of his song.
  • Blue had his last Little League game today.  It’s too hot for five year olds to win baseball games.
  • According to the response of yesterday’s post, it turns out sometimes stats suck on Saturday also.
  • Kristin and I had a hot date last night and went to see Indiana Jones.  I’m not good at movie reviews.
  • Because of the salmonella scare in tomatoes across the country places have stopped serving them which makes it really easy to make sure they don’t get put on my food.  Yeah salmonella!
  • Bush hates it when I use Mr. Linky, but I am going to anyway.

Your turn.  What’s on your mind?

  • Today we are visiting a new church, not because we want to leave our church but, because we were invited to a friends church.
  • Today is Blue’s last baseball game.  It’s the Championship game against the Yankee’s with the freak coach.  Last time Blue’s team played them he got mad and threw his glove.  They are five and six year olds.
  • I’ve noticed some new links here, and I am bad about adding people.  If you link to me and I don’t link to you, let me know and I will change that.
  • We watched the movie August Rush last night.  I liked it.  Anyone else seen it?
  • This made me laugh last night.
  • Both Kristin and I explicitly remember her locking the front door last night before bed.  This morning it was open when we woke up.  If you are coming in out house to watch us sleep, stop it.  It’s creepy
