Christmas Past

So, in 2003 some friends (Jordan, Kyle, and James) and I decided to attempt to record some Christmas songs. We didn’t have much of a plan but we wanted the songs to sound a little different but keep some of the tradition. We literally got together once or twice before hand and then went to a friends studio for some late night recording.  We finished with six songs, but this one was sort of a last minute addition literally created at about 4:30 in the morning, which explains the direction it takes at the end.

Now five years later, it’s funny to look back at this and laugh a little, but it was a good time when we did it.  Anyway, Kristin dug this out the other day and it made me laugh so I thought I would share it with you.  I’m categorizing it ‘Music You’ve Never Heard’ because quite frankly, very few people have ever heard this… probably for a good reason.

Vince And Bart

I took this picture about thirty minutes ago.  Vince Gill is in the studio with Bart today recording some vocals for Bart’s upcoming hymns record.  From what I can tell Vince is a pretty big deal.  He’s won some awards, hosted some shows, and a bunch of other stuff and seems like a great guy.  Super nice.

Any Vince Gill fans out there?  Kat, I made sure to tell him to say “hi” to Amy for you.

We just finished lunch and now it’s time for Bart to sing.

Pocket TV

My friend Michael and all the other Pocket Full Of Rocks folks are in the studio today.  They are starting the recording process on their new record, and have invited us all to join in.  For the next few days they will be broadcasting a video of them in the studio online.  Make sure to stop in and say “hey” on the chat room.

If I get a chance I will stop in the studio and say hi.  Also make sure to check out Pocket’s records if you haven’t.  Definitely worth a listen.
