MYNH – HoneyChild
I know these Music You’ve Never Heard posts are few and far between recently, but I wanted to let you know of a band I heard about recently called HoneyChild. It pains me to see that their “main” website is a freaking Myspace, but maybe they will see this post and give me a call for some new web stuff. Anyway, one amazing thing they are doing is ’selling’ their record ‘Nearer The Earth’ on Facebook for FREE.
Seriously, go check it out and let me know what you think. And lets start the MYNH train up again. Let me know in the comments what Music I’ve Never Heard.
Ready? Go.
MYNH – Josh Garrels
Holy voice. Is that even human? Ladies and Gentlemen Mr. Josh Garrels. My friend Damian send me this guys site and his voice instantly blew me away. I searched around on Youtube to find some other live performance stuff, and there’s plenty, but this song just blew me back a bit.
Let’s hear it. What’s some Music We’ve Never Heard? What are you listening to?
Steven Delopoulos
I wish I could describe the feeling I get when I listen to Steven Delopoulos. It’s almost like a good meal you’re sad to see end. Only it’s music that I own, but I still have this feeling that I’m constantly wanting more. The guitar playing, the vocals, the songwriting. Brilliant.
Now, most of you have probably heard of Steven, or at least the band he was in called Burlap To Cashmere, but he’s still making music and it’s still beautiful. And every song literally leaves you wanting more. Fortunately you can get some of his stuff at NoiseTrade.com, but make sure to tip him well. We need him to keep writing.
What music are you listening to, that we’ve never heard?

A friend of mine sent me this guys name the other day as something that I should check out. He mentioned that he was an artist in the ‘painting’ sense as well as the ‘writing and playing music sense’ and that I should take a look. It took me a couple days, but when I did get around to checking out his stuff, I found myself focussing more on his artwork than on his music. I took a rabbit trail to this site and ended up fascinated by it. It really is pretty amazing stuff.
Then a few days later I realized that I should probably check out his music too. And here we are. The next featured artist on the old ‘Music You’ve Never Heard’ section. Again, pretty amazing stuff.
Now, I didn’t really get permission to play his song on my blog, but I figure if every one of you go buy his record on iTunes, he’ll forgive me. Plus he’s playing this song on his Myspace so I think it’s okay…. but you really should go buy it.
Now, I don’t know much about this guy, except that he’s local and eventually I’d like to grab a coffee or something with him, but I’ve never communicated with him so we’ll see. In the meantime, enjoy and go check out more of his stuff.
And while we’re here discussing ‘Music You’ve Never Heard’, hit me up with some music I’ve never heard. What are you listening to, that we’ve never heard?
Ready? Go.
Ingrid Michaelson – You And I
My new favorite song for tonight. Stick around till 2:02 and I dare you not to start bobbing your head up and down.
MYNH – Bon Iver
Alright folks, I think it’s time for a little music you’ve never heard? This is Bon Iver. It’s acoustic. It’s mellow. And it feels right for a day like today. Enjoy.
What record are you hooked on today?
Music You’ve Never Heard – B.E.

Yeah, yeah I know it’s Positive Post Tuesday and all, but right now I want to talk about some Music You’ve Never Heard. Today, it’s the ‘Bloggers Edition‘ for you folks out there and maybe later today we will get to PPT.
First up it’s two guys I have never met in person but have known about in the blog world for a long time. Luke Mundy and Gene Pensiero have recorded a Christmas EP. It’s good and it’s free. It’s got sort of a ‘Jon Foreman solo EP’ feel, but cool Christmas songs and there’s really no reason you wouldn’t go download it now for free and check out some music you’ve never heard.
Next up is an album that my church recorded a few months back. It comes out today and it’s pretty dang good. My friend Chad was super involved in it and I had several friends play on it, so it’s cool to hear. You can listen to a couple of the songs here and you can buy it here. From what I understand this is going to be an ongoing thing for the church. There are tons of pretty talented folks in the church and they are all coming together to make some pretty great worship stuff.
So there it is folks. Some December Music You’ve Never Heard. Nine days til Christmas. What are you listening to this week?
MYNH – John Mark McMillan
I’m a sucker for that ‘dirty Americana’ sound. I don’t know how to describe it other than that. It’s that sound that makes you feel like you should be riding on a train across America at sunset or something. That sound that makes you want to be more creative and turns everything around you a little more artistic.
My friend Jeremy called me the other day asking if I had heard of John Mark McMillan, and what I thought. I had heard the name, but hadn’t heard his music until later that day. Now I’m hooked. It’s got that sound. Turns out he’s sort of an “up and coming” guy, so if you have heard of him, that’s awesome. Now it’s time to start telling the people that haven’t. Thanks Jeremy.
Everyone else. Go now and check him out.
(More) Music You’ve Never Heard
You may or may not have noticed the new tab at the top of this blog named “MYNH”. Guess what that stands for. Yep. ”Music You’ve Never Heard”. It’s a feature I have messed around with a little on this blog and would love to develop into something one day, but for now I thought it would be a good place to just browse.
Here’s the problem though. I keep running out of music. Between traveling, family, SkörInc, and well… sleep, I haven’t had a ton of time to keep up on the music I’ve never heard. So I need some help and since this will be an ongoing thing (thanks to the new tab) it will, hopefully, be a good resource for years to come. Okay maybe not years to come but at least for the next couple days.
So let’s hear it. What’s some music I have never heard? Ready? Go.
More Music You’ve Never Heard
This week I was contacted by some friends letting me know about some more “music you’ve never heard”. One bad is a friend of a friend, and they are in a contest right now trying to win the chance to open for Hawk Nelson at The Rock Of Ages Festival in California. The second is a friend of mine from a tour about two years ago.
First off is a band called Chasing Truth. Here’s the cool thing about them. They are like thirteen years old or something and have been playing for three years. It’s pretty impressive when you start to think about the dedication and focus that it takes to even become a band when you are thirteen. They are pretty intense musically, but would be a good fit to open for Hawk Nelson, not to mention, how cool would that be as a thirteen year old? So take thirty seconds and go here, scroll down to the bottom of the page and vote for Chasing Truth to open for Hawk Nelson.
Second is my friend Coury’s first solo project. Coury and I met on the MercyMe tour where he was in charge of the Compassion table. We ended up hanging out quite a bit and still occasionally get together for coffee or something. Coury’s new site just launched yesterday, and he’s giving away a few covers and some original stuff in anticipation for his record. In fact, for two bucks you can get five songs to check out. I really like Coury’s stuff. It’s got a really cool vibe and it’s different than anything else anyone is doing. Also Coury has a blog where he promises to be involved and update often. So head over to Coury’s new site and check out some cool new music you’ve never heard.
Anything new besides Coldplay that you are listening to? Whatcha’ got?
