dnd2500.jpgThere’s a small stretch of road by our house where the speed limit is twenty. Twenty. That’s pretty dang slow if you ask me. There’s no school around. There are occasionally people walking dogs and what-not, but regardless, the speed limit is twenty.

Yesterday I ran out to do some things, and was on the way back not really paying attention to the posted speed limit signs. Typically I slow down in this area to at or below twenty, just to be annoying to everyone around me, and to, in my mind stick it to the man. Well not today. I accidentally was coasting down the road at a still very reasonable speed of thirty-four. How do I know that I was going thirty-four you might ask? Well, because that’s what the nice officer told me I was going.

Here’s the kicker. I’m pretty bad about keeping track of papers and stuff, and it turns out I have lost our registration papers, I have forgotten to change my address on my license from when we moved and the insurance card that I had in my wallet was from a car we don’t even own anymore. Ouch. There is a silver lining though. Come to find out that we have been paying for insurance on that car that we no longer own and now we have a good sized credit with our insurance company.

So anyway, I am headed to traffic court on April first, to somehow try and talk my way out of this one, but from now on I may get out and push my car through this section of road. Can you get a ticket for that?
