I don’t remember all the things I wanted to be when I grew up. I’m sure at one point it was a professional baseball player, then a WWF Wrestler, then a fireman and some sort of musician. I do know that it changed frequently, and I still haven’t figured it out, though it seems to be moving somewhere in the music industry. And I’m pretty sure the wrestler thing is out.

Kristin and I talk to our boys about every once in a while about what they want to be when they get bigger.  Blue started out saying that he wanted to stay home and wear jammies all day long.  That progressed to being an astronaut, then a scientist.  Now I’m not sure where he is at in his profession choosing state.  Aiden usually says “nothing” when we ask him what he wants to be.  He’s our “emo” kid.  Though one night late, him and I were watching some late night show and Matchbox Twenty was the musical guest.  Aiden watched intently and toward the end of the song he whispered, “I want to do that.”  I asked him what it was exactly that he wanted to do, and without hesitation he said, “I want to buy lights and be in them.”  I asked again if that meant that he wanted to sing and he agreed.  I think kid dreams are awesome.

My question today is what did you want to be when you grew up? We all have thought about it. How many have done it? So there it is. What did you want to be when you became an adult? Did it happen?
