He’s Like A Superhero

Yesterday we took Blue up to a doctor in Nashville to get a hard cast for his ankle. We were stuck in traffic for a while so we were a little late, but got there and signed in. After about ten minutes in the waiting room we were asked to come back to see the doctor. A few pulls and twists, and a use of some sort of tuning fork thing, the doctor wanted to x-ray both feet together.

I took Blue in and laid him on the table. He sat as still as he could while the x-rays were being taken, and then we went back to the room. After about ten minutes, the doctor came in and explained that Blue’s ankle was no longer broken. He couldn’t find anything wrong and there was no need for a cast or even the brace that Blue had been wearing. The doctor asked if we brought his other shoe because there was no reason he couldn’t wear it home. He also said he didn’t see a problem with Blue playing baseball this weekend. No pain, no break in the x-ray, everything seemed normal.

Huh. I remember hearing about quick healing in an X-Men movie. We are talking about installing the unbreakable metal claws later this month.

Clearing Up

No, I am not going to jail this morning. No, I didn’t have to pay $4,298.09 to stay out of jail. Yesterday was a simple traffic court fine and about four minutes at the clerks window waiting for the debit card machine to work for the small fine I did have to pay. I do appreciate all the concern though. It’s awesome to know that there are folks out there that would do what they could to fix things like that. Sorry mom, and anyone else I gave a heart attack to, but it was pretty fun to answer the several phone calls I got throughout the day.  Jokes are funny.

However Blue and I did make it to the Hawk Nelson CD release party, rock and roll show last night.  Blue has been a Hawk Nelson fan for a while now and only been able to see them once, so he was excited.  Broken ankle and all.  And speaking of that, his appointment for the hard cast has been pushed back to the 9th of April.  I guess they wait for the swelling to go down before they cover it in hard plaster.  Makes sense.  So Blue has this robotic walking boot thing, that makes him look and feel awesome like a Transformer.

So that’s the updates from here. Hawk Nelson, healing ankles and no jail time. All good things.

Well, it’s not bad, but it’s broken. See that little piece hanging down there next the the arrow. I guess that’s not good. Blue got the splint today and the hard cast comes Monday or Tuesday. He’s excited about a cool cast and getting to play lots of video games. Baseball will have to wait this year. He’s still a tough one though. Just a little disappointed we didn’t get to bring the wheelchair home.
