Blog Nation

the_blog_nation

So here we are a week into this tour and already Kyle and I have found ourselves a ‘nickname’ of sorts.  Typically we are the ones sitting in the corner behind laptops, typing away or following someone around with a camera.  Inevitably someone will yell from across the room, ‘Blog Nation‘.  It’s more just usually the room we are in or something like that, but I think the name’s going to stick.  Tonight I decided that ‘Blog Nation’ is the name of those helping turn this whole “touring / blogging / industry” thing upside down.  And I love it.

Tonight everyone watching the show online brought it.  They spread the word faster and more than I have seen in a long time.  So much so that I had a hard time keeping up with the chat.  I also saw and talked with some major players in the Christian Music Industry that were stopping in to see what was going on.  I was completely blown away.  Tonight will go down as something special to me, and I’m pretty sure it’s changing things.

So thanks to everyone that showed up tonight and helped make this thing crazy.  This is what I love about the grass-roots type of interaction.  All of the sudden people have to pay attention to what we are doing.  We are ‘Blog Nation’.  Now all we need are shirts.

Seattle

I woke up this morning to the bus stopping at 6:50 and a bunch of commotion and orders that we needed to get up and be inside a radio station in twenty minutes.  That’s how my day started and here it is 11:30 and I’m still going like crazy.  Today was a long one.  Three different radio stations, the first ever MercyMe Tweet & Greet, a pretty cool contest that we will show you tomorrow on The Roadhshow Blog, and then of course, the show and broadcast.  All that to say, it’s been a long day.  That’s for sure.

And on top of it, We’re here in Seattle and I haven’t had a chance to get one cup of coffee.  Seriously.  There’s something wrong with that.  In fact, I don’t think I have had a cup of coffee yet on this tour, and to be quite honest, I’m a little sad about that.

Tomorrow we are headed for Boise, ID.  I’ve only been there once, but I’m hoping it has some coffee.  Sorry for the play by play post tonight.  I promise something a little more exciting once I’m not too tired to think.  I did just catch wind that a one Mr. Steve Fee just landed in Seattle to play a show at this same arena tomorrow night.  I think he might be on his way over to hang out before we leave.  I wonder if he’ll bring me coffee.

Taken

taken

So, we’ve got this day off in Spokane, WA and a group of us went as saw the movie Taken.  Now, I’ve been a little stressed  the last few days and originally the idea of going to see a movie was to relax and not be stressed.  Spoiler Alert:  Not the movie to see when you don’t want to be stressed out.  No seriously though.  It was a pretty great movie and, in my opinion, dealt with a very real issue in a way that Hollywood typically doesn’t.  There was no over the top sex stuff or gratuitous violence, but was still a great movie.

Now we’re headed to Outback for some dinner and then back on the bus and off to Seattle.  Great, mellow day off in Spokane.  Intense movie and some mall walking.

Anyone else seen Taken? What’d you think?
