Dang. It’s Sunday again already?  What the heck?  Well, if you can’t tell I’m slammed with work.  Slammed with getting ready for The Roadshow, slammed with wrapping up the packaging for “The Generous Mr. Lovewell“, slammed with launching some new sites, you know… all at once.  So it doesn’t really surprise me that Sunday is the day that I can actually try to catch up on things here.  So here goes.  It’s Sunday and these are my thoughts.

• Gymkata has to be one of the worst, awesome moves I’ve ever seen.  I swear the script was probably three pages of notes.  It felt like there were several times in the movie where they just didn’t have lines so they just ran through the woods or something.  Yep.  That awesome.
• Blue is sitting next to me shooting people’s heads off in some video game.  I think it’s kinda weird, but that’s because I have to, not because I really think it’s weird.
• We’ve been going through some major ‘adjustments’ on the SkörInc front.  Lots of organizing and lots of team building talk.
• Everyone thinks I’m either gay or a hippie… or both for talking so much about “team building” but them having to listen to me is one of the perks of being the boss right?
• I had an idea last night that originally I was going to write about today, but then I realized I’d rather start working on it before I talk about it.  You know… element of surprise and all that…. plus I don’t know what I’m doing so I have to check with some people before I go and start talking about things.
• I’m pretty excited to hang with the Crowder boys in the next couple days.  This will be my third tour with them and it’s always a good time.
• Maybe the Crowder boys will want to do some team-building stuff with me.
• I’ve still chickened out about wearing my letterman jacket anywhere, but I’m thinking that we start something on here where people send in pics of them wearing their letterman jacket somewhere in public.  It’s time to bring that back.
• Apparently Franklin, TN has a basketball team.
• How do you pack for a month away from home?  I wear the same thing every day.  That either makes it really hard to pack, or really easy.  We’ll see which one it is tomorrow.
• I’m still glad I’m not Kobe Bryant.
• Kristin and I are going to see MUSE tomorrow.  Yes sir.  MUSE.  Tomorrow.  My wife is awesome.

Man, it’s been a while since I’ve done one of these.  I sort of miss them.  I miss seeing other folks random thoughts, so I’m bringing it back.  Now, I will warn you though, most of what’s floating around in my brain is probably work related at this point, simply because that’s where I’m at.  So here goes.  For those of you who have never heard of ‘Stats Suck Sunday’, the rules are simple.  Write some random bullet points on your blog, then fill out the box below.  That’s it.  Ready?

• I had two ideas last night at church that are completely unrelated to each other, but I think they could be awesome.  One is serious and the other is not.  I think the serious one could be a really cool thing.  I’ll let you know if it starts moving forward.
• Trying out Evernote again.  I’ve had an account for a while, but never took the time to figure it out.  Turns out it’s pretty simple, but I need to make it a habit.
• MercyMe‘s packaging for ‘The Generous Mr. Lovewell’ is due a week from tomorrow.  We’re a long way off from being done, but if we can pull it off it’s going to be really cool.
• On top of the MercyMe packaging, SkörInc’s got a couple pretty substantial website launches this week or nest week, Natalie Grant is hosting a benefit show for the Home Foundation, and it’s time to start preparing for the start of The Roadshow.
• See, I told you I was busy.
• Continue to pray for Addison Road and FFH.  If you haven’t heard Addison Road was renting FFH‘s RV for this tour with Sanctus Real.  A couple nights ago it caught on fire and completely burned.
• I think I forgot to tell you I got a new car.  It’s gray, and it’s a Prius, and looks like this.  Now I can save on gas milage as well as being conscious of the environment.  Not to mention it’s like driving a video game so it’s fun.
• Wondering when the NBA is getting to playoff time.  It could be already, I just haven’t noticed.  I like NBA Playoffs.
• Our house needs a wash.  I wish I could somehow roll it through a car wash type thing.  Most likely I’ll end up getting one of those long brushes that you hook to a hose and going at it.
• I’ve got about 50 games of Words With Friends going, and having a hard time keeping up.  Blue is really good and keeps making our games hard.

So that’s about it rolling around in this brain this morning.  I think I might try to get to that house washing today, but who knows, it’s Sunday.  Your turn.

This post, no doubt, will make me come across as a spoiled American, but that’s alright.  I’ve been feeling more and more like a spoiled American lately, so there’s no harm in you thinking that too.  Anyway, the other day I was driving and that stupid gas light turned on.  You know the one that means you should have already gotten gas?  So, I started thinking about how much I hate getting gas.  I don’t know why, but for some reason I can’t stand it.  Everything about it drives me nuts, and it seems like I’m always doing it.

So, I’m driving, looking at this gas light, thinking about how much I hate to get gas and I start thinking of the other mundane things that we all have to do at some point in our lives.  (And I know they are different for everyone because I actually like mowing the lawn and I know people that hate it.)  You know the stuff.  The things you mumble under your breath when you’re doing, “I hate (fill in the blank)”.

Well, for your Sunday reading pleasure I’ve come up with a list of five, yes five, mundane things that I hate to do.  Things that most people would make fun of me for hating to do and then they’d walk away calling me a spoiled American.  Are you ready?  Now, I fully expect you guys to buck up and let me know you’re things too, so here we go.

1:  Getting gas (As stated above)

2:  Entering my PIN number when I use my ATM card… (Especially gas pumps)

3:  Picking up dog poop.  (If I have to explain this, you’ve never owned a dog.)

4:  Hanging Christmas lights.  (I’m actually getting better at this one, but for some reason I always choose the coldest night of the year to decide to do this and more often than not the lights don’t work.)

5:   Preparing to paint.  (You know, the taping off the windows and doors making sure nothing will be touched when I slap on way too much paint.)

So there it is folks.  My top five mundane things I hate doing.  And really 3,4, and 5 are just annoying, I don’t really hate them… but I’ll never waiver on my dislike for pumping gas.

SSS – Five Mundane Things is a post from: Brody Harper

Flying back from Dallas last week, my flight was at 2:10… in the afternoon…. in the middle of the day… on a Thursday.  As I looked around the plane I saw countless people looking exactly like the picture above… at 2:10… in the afternoon… in the middle of the day… on a Thursday.

Now, I’m not saying that taking a little cat nap or something on a plane is a weird thing.  But what I will say is that it’s pretty bizarre when it’s the middle of the day and there’s the mouth open, eyes rolling around, snoring, can’t keep your head up type of sleep going on.  I mean, seriously, it’s the middle of the day.  What would you normally be doing right now?  Even if you weren’t on a plane?

Let’s say you’re off work, the yard work is finished but you are home and have some “free time” to just do nothing.  Are you thins lethargic and out of it at home?

Maybe it’s me.  Maybe it’s something in the air they put on airplanes.  Maybe it’s a weird thing.  I don’t know.  Maybe this is the reason Stats Suck On Sunday.  Either way, are you a “plane sleeper”?

Welcome to Sunday.  You all know the drill, everything is random because no one is reading.  And on top of that everyone is watching football today so there will even be less people reading blogs.  Feel free to write up your own SSS and link to it in the comments or if you’re blog-less just write your randomness in the comments. Here goes.

• My Fantasy Football team isn’t starting off so good.  Right now I’m losing pretty bad with a projected score of even worse.  No good.
• I’m currently on the bus, just a couple hours away from Nashville, after a ten day run out on the road.  Couldn’t be more ready to be home.
• Every few years Kristin and I have changed houses.  I think we might be getting close to re-visiting that again.  We love to mix things up.
• I’m pretty sure I could recognize Fiji Water in a blind taste test.  We’ve got three or four cases on the bus here, so that might be something we need to do.
• Realized that I haven’t had coffee since my second day off in San Antonio.  Not because I’m trying to quit or anything silly like that, but because I haven’t really had time or opportunity to make it or buy it.
• I have four meetings in the next three days.  Some really big stuff, so it will be good.  Lots happening with SkörInc that I’m excited about.
• Looking forward to getting back to the gym with Kristin this week.  Ten days on a bus will really jack all that up.
• The signal on the bus TV keeps cutting in and out and driving me crazy.  Like listening to a skipping record only it’s football guys talking.
• I’ve got twenty minutes left of downloading a record that I’ve been waiting a long time to hear.  It’s not out yet, but I’m guessing it’s going to be good.  And I’m not even going to tell you what record it is.
• I wonder where my shoes are.

• I’m in San Antonio for the next few days.  We did a show last night, but for the next few days we’re just chillin in this ridiculous hotel.  It’s kind of one of those places that’s cool to stay at, but it’d be way cooler if Kristin was here.
• The MercyMe boys are playing at Six Flags tonight here so I at least have plans for one of the nights that I’m here.
• The Discovery Channel is awesome.
• I’m still trying to figure out why I packed a scarf for a 10 day run in Texas, but I’m sure it made sense at the time.
• There is noting grosser than the birth process of a kangaroo.
• I slept in 2 stages last night.  One for three hours, and another for four.  I suppose that equals seven hours but I’m not feeling it.
• I’m pretty sure football starts sometime soon and I’ll have to start paying attention to my Fantasy Football team.  I’m pretty sure I’m in trouble though.  My team is no good.
• Just told the cleaning lady I probably wouldn’t need my room cleaned for a few days.  I wonder if that was a good idea.
• Got some fun news this week from the Fee guys.  Be looking for that on Tuesday or so.
• It kind of bugs me that there’s all these snacks in this room, but I don’t know how much they cost or what to do with them.  I mean that Strawberry Odwalla breakfast bar looks really good right now.
• Alright.  It’s 1:00.  This is getting ridiculous.  I need to get going.

Well it’s late but it’s still Sunday, so here we go.  Welcome to Stats Suck Sunday, where everything is random because no one’s really reading.  Here we go.

• Today marks the day of the launch of the MercyMe iPhone App.  It’s pretty basic but does somethings to keep everyone up to speed.  We’re still working out some of the bugs but it’s cool to have it out there and running.
• There are plenty more apps where that one came from so be looking for that.
• Our hometown is currently on fire in California so be praying for all of our friends out there.  From what I have heard several of them have already been evacuated.
• I slept two chunks of 3 hours last night and drove home from the bus in between.  Not exactly a good night’s rest and I’m feeling it now.
• Fantasy Football starts pretty soon and my team is no good already.
• I’ve got some pretty huge meetings this week, but I’m not going to tell you about them until later.  But it could be really cool.
• Date night tomorrow.
• I’m in Texas all next week.  I think mostly the San Antonio area, which happens to be several miles away from anyone I know in Texas.
• Today I finally got Kristin to admit she likes a song performed by an American Idol contestant.  Hey, that’s a big victory for me.
• Bouncing back and forth between this and the news websites so I think I’m gonna wrap this up.

Welcome to Sunday.  You know the rules.  We’re gonna start right into it today.  Here goes.

• Tonight is our Fantasy Football draft and I’m a little nervous about it.  I have no idea what I am doing and most likely will forget to show up online for the draft.
• For those of you that don’t know, I’m in a Fantasy Football league with the MercyMe guys and they always talk me into trading my good players.
• I’m still on the bus headed back from New York.  Should be there just in time to take Blue out for his birthday dinner and give him his present.
• I’m not telling you what his present it, but it’s awesome.  I can tell you that much.
• I’ve got another busy week this week.  Lots to do and lots to catch up on.  Looking forward to two huge meetings in particular, but I’m not telling you about those yet either.
• Who eats grape jelly, really?  I’m shocked it even exists.
• I’ve never been a ‘feet on the dashboard’ kind of guy.  I need to start doing that more.  It seems comfortable.
• Bart called me last night at 1:29 am.  Rockstars.
• I’m contemplating trying that Lemonade Cleansing thing.  Anyone tried it?  I have a couple friends that have tried it and love it, but I’m not so sure.
• Seriously.  Who thought of jelly and thought that grape flavor would be a good idea?
• There’s a prison gang show on the National Geographic channel right now.  I’m glad I am neither in prison or a gang.
• Found out last night that Ryan from One Republic has written several Kelly Clarkson songs, so make fun all you want.
• I’m getting far too distracted by this prison show.

Welcome to Sunday.  It’s that time again to throw out a bunch of random bullet points with the expectation of little traffic.  Feel free to participate in any way you’d like.  You can either post a ‘SSS’ post on your blog and link to it in the comments, or simply rock some bullet points in the comment section.  Easy right?  Here goes.

• I’m currently unbelievably paranoid of what is written on Twitter, Facebook and blogs.  Seeing how quickly Bart’s Tweet spread across every news website possible yesterday makes me realize how important it is to think about what you Tweet.
• Still a little weirded out about all the tragedy that has occurred in the past couple weeks.
• By the end of next week Alaska will be the only state I haven’t been in.  Do you get a t-shirt or something when you accomplish that?
• Iced coffee is good.
• Obviously we have had a hard time keeping on top of MercyMe’s blog simply because of massive amounts of traffic.  I just wish it was because of something less tragic.
• I can’t stop sneezing.
• Kristin and I had an awesome anniversary this week and the fifteenth is Blue’s birthday.  I’m super excited about his present, but I’m not telling you what it is because it’s a surprise.
• I’m still glad I’m not Kobe Bryant.
• I’ve spent a bunch of time blocking Twitter spam followers.  Glad I don’t follow everyone that follows me.
• My phone battery has died faster in the past two day than it ever has.  Somehow that doesn’t surprise me.
• I’d like to start working with Emerson Hart.  His record “Cigarettes And Gasoline” is still one of my favorites.
• I’ve been on four phone conversations since I started this post.

That’s it folks.  Not all that eventful, but that’s the point right.  Please continue to pray for the MercyMe guys and everyone involved in that accident the other night.  I know they appreciate it.
