Let’s Welcome Building429

welcome_building_429

It’s that time again folks.  Time to welcome another artist to the SkörInc family.  These guys have been on the ‘interactive train’ for a while now, but I’m excited to take it to the next level with them.  You’ll notice their site’s got a lot going on over there so take some time to click around and check out all the little goodies.

And here’s where you all come in.  You know what to do right?  Start spreading the word.  Tell your friends, Tweet it, blog about it.  Do anything to get as many people as we can to check out the site.  Let’s give the Building429 boys a big fat SkörInc / BlogNation welcome, like only you guys can.

Be on the lookout for some really cool stuff from them and make sure to subscribe to their blog.  Sound good?  And while we’re here, what’s your favorite Building429 song?

So head over to the brand new NatalieGrant.com and take a look around.  We’re still making sure everything is functioning right and like always, I rely on you guys to let me know if anything is screwy.  But for now go take a look, and let me know what you think.

‘Something To Say’ – $2.99 Today

amazon_sale

So, today only Matthew West’s album “Something To Say” is on sale at Amazon.com for only $2.99.  Now, here’s the thing.  The song “The Motions” has been number one on Christian charts for thirteen weeks now, so logically even if you just want to buy that song for $2.99 it’s a steal.  Not to mention that there are a ton of other great songs on the record.

We’ve only had the chance to work with Matthew for the last few months, but already we have seen his heart for what he does and how him and his team pour themselves into their ministry.  So here’s the deal.  Even if you own the record already, buy it for a friend.  Buy them for Christmas presents, or buy them simply to support a great artist who writes great songs.

Okay.  Favorite song on this record.  Go.

Welcome Matthew West

matthew_west_site

Alright folks.  You know how this works.  It’s time to spread the word about the new MatthewWest.com.  I’m super excited to start working with Matthew and his ‘camp’.  He’s got some amazing ideas for the future of the site, he’s a ridiculously good songwriter and on top of that he’s currently riding a twelve week number one single for Christian radio.  Sounds like a decent online buddy to me.

So here’s the deal.   Head over to Matthews new site, check it out, click everything and see if anything is broken.  You guys know how to pick apart a site and let me know if anything is screwy.  And then there’s the ‘spreading the word’ part.  Blog about it, Tweet it, Leave Matthew comments, and if you’re feeling ambitious, rent a plane and have it written in the sky above your city.

A big fat, “Welcome to the SkörInc Family” to a very talented Mr. West.

Jonny Diaz Live Chat Tonight

jonny_diaz_live_chat

I’ve got plans for you tonight.  It’s time once again for Blog Nation to step it up and start calling, texting, emailing and tweeting their friends.  Tonight at 7:00 PM Central Time Jonny Diaz will be doing a Live Q&A time as well as taking song requests, and basically just hanging out.  Much like the intimate times from The Roadshow with the different artists, you will be able to chat with Jonny and with everyone else watching, only this will be from Jonny’s house.

Now I know what you’re saying.  ’I didn’t realize Jonny Diaz was a SkörInc artist’.  Well, he’s not.  But he is today.  Today we are bringing him along side Blog Nation and joining forces.  After all, isn’t that what this whole thing is about?

A few weeks back INO Records contacted me and told me they were wanting to do a Live Q&A time with Jonny and asked me to be involved.  I’ve heard Jonny’s music for a while now and was honored to be asked to help out.  So now it’s up to the amazing people of Blog Nation to spread the word to make this a huge success.  And I know you people can do it.  My summer haircut is evidence of that.

So here’s what I’m going to ask you to do.  I need you to blog about tonight’s Q&A time with Jonny Diaz.  It’s at 7PM Central Time.  (8PM Eastern) over at JonnyDiaz.com.  Blog about it, Tweet it, Facebook / Myspace blast it, and more importantly show up tonight to hang out.  And if you haven’t checked out Jonny’s music, you’ve got all day to do that.  Sound like a plan?

Where are my Jonny Diaz fans?

SkörInc Welcomes Todd Agnew

todd_agnew

It’s that time again.  The time to announce the newest online friend of SkörInc, Todd Agnew.  We met with Todd a few months ago and sat down and talked about all his ideas for what he wanted his web presence to look like.  It was cool to get a window into his personality a little and now we have the opportunity to allow you a window into his personality as well.

Now, this process is a little different than other “normal” SkörInc projects, simply because this will be done in a ‘Phase One / Phase Two’ launch.  What’s that mean really?  Not much other than the site that is currently up is a ‘Temporary” site and we will have an official launch when Todd’s new record comes out in a few months.  Sound good?

So, here’s what that means for you.  It means that it’s time to head over to Todd’s new site, say hello, Follow him on Twitter, and make sure to check back for more from Todd in the coming months.  We’re excited to start working with Todd and I hope you will all welcome him to the SkörInc family and Blog Nation.

And while we are here, how many Todd Agnew fans do we have?  Favorite songs?

And Now For Something Completely Different…

billy_currington

This blogging thing has taken me down some pretty interesting roads from massive tours, to being in a studio with people like Vince Gill, to backstage at the Grand Ole Opry, and everything in between.  Since The Roadshow has ended, I haven’t really had a chance to mention what was next for me.  Well, I thought I’d let you all know… Tomorrow starts something completely different all together, and I’m a little nervous, but equally as excited to see what’s going to happen over the next few months.

Tomorrow I am meeting up with Billy Currington to start working on a complete, much needed ‘online overhaul’.  You country fans might know him, and he’s playing at the Country Music Marathon Post Race Concert and that will start my process of handling his web presence and traveling with him.  Now, this is going to be something completely different than I am used to but I love the idea of a challenge, and can’t wait to see what happens in a different market.  I’m currently not handling any of his websites or anything like that, but it will be cool to dive in to what they have going and see where I can help them out.  There’s a lot to be done.

Billy is currently traveling with another country act you may have heard of called Sugarland, and I’m interested to see what this whole ‘Country Music’ thing is all about.  Anyway, I hope you will all join me in this new little venture, and who knows, I might just have to buy some boots or something eventually.

The Dove Awards

dove_awardsjpg

Last night after the pre-show portion of the night, and after the award for ‘best packaging’ was called I was finally able to catch up with David Crowder and Shelly Giglio and talk to them about how we had just not won the Dove.  Both of them mentioned how their plan was to have me do the acceptance speech in the event that we won that particular award.  So in retrospect, maybe it is a good thing we didn’t win.  No one needs that bad of a train wreck starting out the show.

I don’t even know where to start recapping the show.  Kristin and I had a great time.  I think the stress level was a bit high simply because we got there with two minutes to spare, and the whirlwind of it all, but once things settled down a little we were able to relax and have a really good time together.  I can’t think of a better situation than to have my best friend with me at something like that.

The performances were awesome.  Brandon Heath and Natalie killed it. MercyMe somehow managed to make two songs I have heard a couple hundred times live and make it more emotional than ever before and Steven Curtis Chapman left me completely speechless.  Also seeing the Tenth Avenue North guys play and win New Artist Of The Year was great.  And even though they aren’t a SkörInc artist (yet) and beat out two other bands that I work with, it’s awesome to see friends succeed and they deserve it.

And speaking of Tenth Avenue North, Kristin and I were able to meet Mike’s mom and dad (MrD and MommaD from the streaming chat) and they gave me a little gift. It’s something that deserves a post all to itself so you’ll have to wait, but it’s pretty amazing. Good people.

I’m sure there is more to talk about, but right now I’m only half way through a cup of coffee, so as the day goes on, I will probably think of more to say.  All in all, a great night.  Congratulations to all the winners, including SkörInc’s own Natalie Grant for Female Vocalist Of The Year for the fourth time in a row.

Anybody watch last night?  What’d you think?

Invisible

invisible

It’s hard to have a job that no one has ever done.  There’s a lot of explaining to do when someone asks you what it is you do for a living, or when someone is asking for your services and really wants to know what they are asking for.  Especially when it comes to promoting other people online.  And I think that’s an easily blurred line.  My most common response to people simply asking is this:

“If you don’t know what it is that I do, then I am doing my job well.”

My entire goal when promoting my artists online presence is to appear invisible.  There’s no reason that my online presence as a person should be attached to or increased by anything that is happening with my artists online presence.  Sure I will use my name in The Roadshow broadcasting chat room, but that’s simply to give the chat a life and someone with an actual name to ask questions.  And there is inevitably some connection that is bound to happen by simply being connected, but beyond that, I try to stay out of the way.

The reason I bring this up today, is because I have had a ton of emails requesting information on what it is that I do and how I do it.  I’ve had people find me on Facebook and Twitter asking how I am involved in what the artists I work with do online.  And my answer is the same.  ”If you don’t know, then I’m doing it right.”  I’m sorry if that doesn’t sound like much, but that’s all I’ve got.

That’s why you’ll never see my blog link on any of my artists sites, that’s why my Twitter name isn’t connected to their Tweets.  That’s why it’s up to them if they follow me on Twitter or read my blog, that’s why I stay off camera as much as I can, and that’s why when you ask me what it is that I do, I am as vague as I possibly can me.  Because while I want my company to grow and thrive, it’s not about me and my own personal gain.  I’m doing this to increase the artists web presence, not my own.  I just hope I am doing that part well and if I’m not, I expect you all to tell me.

Hope that helps explain some things for you.

Salvador Live

salvador_live

Alright everyone.  The other day we mentioned briefly that we had launched Salvador’s new site, but today I want to give it an online, proper SkörInc welcome.  Now, there’s a couple things we are doing differently with Salvador and I’m excited to get it all going.  You’ll notice all the regular stuff like the blog, the Flickr, the Twitter and all that, but this time we are also venturing into online store stuff.

Oooohh, aahhhhh.

That’s right.  SkörInc and Salvador have partnered to try out a little something special that I’m really excited about.  Online sales.  Obviously right now, there’s nothing there as we are still working out some of the details, but I’m really excited to get things going.

So anyway, check out Salvador’s new site and let me know what you think.  Click around and make sure everything is good to go and visit there often.

Ready?  Go.
