The New skorinc.us/brodyharper.com
Hey so check it out. Welcome to the new skorinc.us/brodyharper.com. Doesn’t it look professional? Randy and Jordan worked a long time on this one. Mostly because I was procrastinating on things, but I think they knocked it out of the park.
A couple things I really like about this new site is the photos section. I love the gallery thing with the popup windows. Can you tell I’m super technical when it comes to those things.
Anyway, take a look around, let me know what you think. Let me know if there are any errors you find. Have a great weekend.
Tis The Season
Throngs of Black Friday shoppers stampeded a Wal-Mart employee as they rushed into the Green Acres mall in Valley Stream minutes before it opened.
“When the doors opened, all hell broke loose,” a law enforcement source told The Post.
An unidentified man, believed to be a store employee who tried to restrain the oncoming juggernaut, was knocked to the ground at 5:03 a.m.
He was rushed to a local hospital but declared dead at 6:03, police said.
Four other people were hospitalized, including a 28-year-old pregnant woman. She was knocked to the store floor a short distance from where the 34-year-old man was trampled and her fate was unclear.
The other three people taken to hospitals suffered minor injuries.
Items on sale at the Wal-Mart store included a $798 Samsung 50-inch Plasma HDTV, a Bissel Compact Upright Vaccum for $28, a Samsung 10.2 megapixel digital camera for $69 and DVDs such as “The Incredible Hulk” for $9.
Next year I’m going with my wife…. and bringing pepper spray. See anything crazy today?
Thoughts?
Makes me wish I would have taken my picture with him in the airport last year.
Well, it’s over. What do you think?
Christians Voting For Obama
A while back I asked you all who was planning on not voting. I got a whole bunch of answers ranging from folks not planning on voting, to people claiming it was un-American to not vote, to, what I consider the best answer, from Amy explaining that not only did people fight for our right to vote, they also fought for our right to not vote. Now, here’s the thing. I do not plan on voting, and here’s why. It’s simple. I’m not registered in Tennessee to vote. Pretty easy right? Here’s the thing though, I don’t think I would vote even if I could. Maybe that makes me un-American or something, but I don’t see a good choice so I am opting out.
That being said I would like to know something from the Christians that are die-hard voting for Obama. I’ve tried to follow the different views of Obama and McCain and honestly, like every other presidential race, whoever I am listening to sounds like they are saying what I want to hear. Guys running for President are good at that I suppose. But there is one thing that has stuck out more than once to me and I haven’t really heard a clear answer about it. I’d like to know what Obama’s stance is on abortion and how that affects the Christian voter.
Historically, it’s seemed like the Christians have typically voted for the guy who has killed the least amount of babies. Is that happening this time around? Or has it become too cool to jump on board with Don Miller and other “forward thinking” Christians and simply overlook that tiny detail? Again, it seems like every time I have looked into it it’s a pretty blurred area. I still don’t really know Obama’s stance and when I find that out I’d like to know the Christian voters thoughts. Carlos, I want to hear from you on this one.
Ready? Go.
Do You Have Gas?
I sat in line at an obscure gas station just outside of town last night for about an hour to only be able to put three and a half gallons of gas in my car. And that was after going to about ten other stations that we out of gas. I sat there with probably about forty other cars waiting to do the same thing.
What the heck?! We are getting closer and closer to Mad Max style living. It’s kind of exciting and kind of weird at the same time. There were people fighting and yelling at each other, there was honking, simple finger gestures all over twenty dollars worth of gas. Amazing to watch. I was waiting for some renegade in leather to pop up with a chainsaw and take someone’s arm off.
I for one, know that most of the stations around me are completely out of gas. They are saying that there will be some next week brought in, but they aren’t clear on what day that will be. What’s crazy about the whole thing is that it doesn’t seem like anyone is slowing down and conserving. What’s going to happen when the gas runs out and this entire area shuts down? I’m not one for looting but there’s a nice TV I have my eye on if things go that way. (*I’m kidding, don’t send me nasty mail*)
How’s the gas in your area? Anyone else out?
Olympic Talk
I’ve never been a big Olympics fan. I watched them growing up but it always seemed pretty boring to me. What’s funny though is, even with all the hype and even the amazing opening ceremony stuff and after my interest level drops pretty quick, I continue to watch because that’s what I am supposed to do. I will have it on in the background, pay attention to what the news is saying and every once in a while I find myself sucked in.
Last night was one of those nights. The girls gymnastics was on for background noise, and as soon as that ended the men’s swimming started. Again, it was mostly background noise while I was doing other things. I obviously haven’t kept up on all the drama surrounding the Games, but I started to catch a little ‘trash talk’ that the French were throwing at the American relay team. The announcers did their job and sucked me in reading quotes of what the French said. Then it was race time.
I still don’t know anything about swimming, but I know they were going fast and according to the announcers they were shattering World records. Then it was this amazing ‘come from behind’ win for the Americans as the camera’s focussed on the depressed, trash talking French. Crazy drama.
It’s not that I like or dislike the Olympics, it just takes me time to get into it. It’s sort of like Football or something. I don’t really care about the season, but when it’s Superbowl time, I like to watch and get sucked in.
Anyone else like that?
Wanna Hear Me Talk?
Well, if for whatever reason, you feel like hearing me talk today at 2:00 PM EASTERN TIME, you can. The interview I did with Charley at CrossDriven Radio is airing today. I told Charley I would try to get more people to listen than my mom, so now you all can’t say you didn’t hear about it. Hopefully I didn’t say anything stupid, or if I did he edited it to make me sound super smart.
Seriously though, Charley was a cool guy to talk to and has already talked to several other really amazing people. Today along with talking to me Charley is talking to Amy, from “My Friend Amy”. The show will also be broken up into two podcasts that can be listened to here. So anyway, if you have some time today around 2:00 Eastern Time, go to WEBR and click the Listen Now button. Then come back here and let me know what you thought.
Two Things
- My friend Phil has a special announcement over at his blog if you haven’t seen it yet. There’s a lot more coming from him this week, but everything in due time.
- My friend Derek is launching an amazing new site today where artists can give away music and anyone with a website / blog / myspace ect, can also be a part of giving away great music. It’s called NoiseTrade and will be launched some time today.
I think there might have been more announcements, but I forgot them in the forty minutes it has taken me to calm down the kids enough so I could think enough to type this. So make sure you run over to Phil’s blog and check out his announcement and then check in on NoiseTrade and get some free music.
