The Hurt & The Healer
So check it out. This record is easily MercyMe’s best record. I’ve had a blast doing all sorts of different projects on it from filming the entire process, art directing the packaging, filming the photo shoot, designing merch, and now working on what’s possibly going to be a music video. These guys are some of my favorite out there, and it’s a blast working with them.
Pre-Order this record now. Trust me.
MYNH – Sean Hayes
Alright folks, I heard this guy last night and the gritty grooves on this record are pretty amazing. This isn’t the song I heard but I downloaded the record and every song is pretty great. Anyway, check out Sean Hayes, and let me know what music you’re listening to that I’ve never heard.
MYNH – Joshua James
I haven’t done one of these in a while, but it’s about time don’t you think? Now I’m guessing some of you have heard of this guy, but I got this guys record the other day and I haven’t been able to turn it off. I love the vocals, I love the simplicity, and you all know I’m a sucker for a good singer-songwtriter. So here you go. Ladies and Gentlemen Joshua James.
And while we’re here, it’s been a long time since I’ve asked what you guys are listening to, so let’s hear it. What artists are you listening to that I’ve never heard?
MYNH – Aftermath
So, I got this record from my friend Daniel and I just realized today that it hasn’t come out yet. So, while it’s Music You’ve Never Heard, it’s really Music No One Has Ever Heard. That’s alright, I’m still going to tell you about it. I was going to show you another song, but since the record isn’t out yet, I think I’ll hold off showing you that one and just showing you the video from his website.
Most of you know that I’m a sucker for simple acoustic tunes and this falls right in line with that. Aftermath is stripped down, it’s clean, but it’s got some great layers tucked in there.
You can check out more and hear more songs here. Let me know what you think.
MYNH – Dan Craig
I have a new favorite. I got an email today from a guy who stumbled on to the “Music You’ve Never Heard” section of this site and recommended this guy. Come on. This guy is the deal for sure. Not quite as sad as Damien Rice, but easily just as emotional. And just to be sure… you need to stay to the end of this video. Then everyone go check out Dan Craig and buy his stuff. Let him know you heard about him on “Music You’ve Never Heard”.
Go on.
MYNH – HoneyChild
I know these Music You’ve Never Heard posts are few and far between recently, but I wanted to let you know of a band I heard about recently called HoneyChild. It pains me to see that their “main” website is a freaking Myspace, but maybe they will see this post and give me a call for some new web stuff. Anyway, one amazing thing they are doing is ‘selling’ their record ‘Nearer The Earth’ on Facebook for FREE.
Seriously, go check it out and let me know what you think. And lets start the MYNH train up again. Let me know in the comments what Music I’ve Never Heard.
Ready? Go.
MYNH – Josh Garrels
Holy voice. Is that even human? Ladies and Gentlemen Mr. Josh Garrels. My friend Damian send me this guys site and his voice instantly blew me away. I searched around on Youtube to find some other live performance stuff, and there’s plenty, but this song just blew me back a bit.
Let’s hear it. What’s some Music We’ve Never Heard? What are you listening to?
Steven Delopoulos
I wish I could describe the feeling I get when I listen to Steven Delopoulos. It’s almost like a good meal you’re sad to see end. Only it’s music that I own, but I still have this feeling that I’m constantly wanting more. The guitar playing, the vocals, the songwriting. Brilliant.
Now, most of you have probably heard of Steven, or at least the band he was in called Burlap To Cashmere, but he’s still making music and it’s still beautiful. And every song literally leaves you wanting more. Fortunately you can get some of his stuff at NoiseTrade.com, but make sure to tip him well. We need him to keep writing.
What music are you listening to, that we’ve never heard?
MYNH – Eric Hutchinson
This guy might not be new to everyone, but the other day I was browsing through iTunes and stumbled onto Eric Hutchinson‘s “Sounds Like This” and he because the subject of this edition of Music You’ve Never Heard.
Currently this is what’s on repeat in the office and the car. Love the groove, love the vocals, and love that it’s not depressing.
So let’s hear the lists. What’s some music we’ve never heard, but need to? Ready? Go.
