Sleep Variations

I’m a graphs nerd I’ve come to find out.  I like to see things rather than read them.  I want to see visually how something is changing or not changing rather than just hearing about it.  So, I got this thing called a FitBit a while back that does just that.  It sort of stalks me.  I wear it all the time and it basically tracks all my activity and even sleep.  How awesome is that?

So obviously being on the road there are some pretty drastic changes between road sleep and home sleep, but I’ve never actually been able to track it… until FitBit.  Check this out.  The first chart is bus sleep from the other night.  I don’t think I need to explain what’s happening on there.  It’s pink and blue… with some numbers… check it out.

And here’s home sleep last night.  All of the sudden it makes a lot of sense why there are times when we are all wandering around a venue looking like a deer in headlights.  I “woke up” 53 times on the bus and only 12 at home?  Now, I’m not sure what this thing classifies as “waking up” but talk about a drastic difference eh?

How’s your sleep?

The Past 10 Years

Kristin made this slideshow yesterday for me and sent it to me while I was sitting at the airport. It’s a quick look into the past ten years of our lives, the houses we’ve lived in, the places we’ve been. I’ve watched it about 50 times and most likely will watch it 50 more today.

The Decision

The subject of “salvation” has come up in several conversations I’ve been in over the past week or so and I thought I’d see if I can bring some of that discussion here.  I think it started with a Tweet linking to this article then it started some interesting conversation in the dressing room at a few shows, then home, then to coffee shops interrupting meetings.

So here we are.

According to the article, folks “shouldn’t ask Christ into their hearts for several reasons, but the gist of it is that it’s unbiblical and there’s no “conversion” that happens when you do so. Interesting.

Then I saw this video in the comments. It’s pretty intense, but it seems to follow along with that same thought.

The more I think on this the more I can see how us as humans need that defining moment in our lives to look back on and say, “I was saved on September 18th, 1994, and I’ve never looked back.”  I can see that.

So my question isn’t really what you believe about all of this in detail.  I’m wondering if there is an exact moment that you become saved?  When do you believe that is?  I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.

MYNH – Sean Hayes

Alright folks, I heard this guy last night and the gritty grooves on this record are pretty amazing. This isn’t the song I heard but I downloaded the record and every song is pretty great. Anyway, check out Sean Hayes, and let me know what music you’re listening to that I’ve never heard.
