Netflix

netflix

I’m not sure why it took this long, but Kristin and I have decided to give Netflix a shot.  It could have been that we just don’t watch that much stuff, or maybe we didn’t rent that much stuff, but now we’re in.

See, we have different movie tastes and sometimes we’re looking for things at the local Blockbuster that they just don’t have.  I’d heard friends talking about Netflix and how awesome it was and all that for years, but never really thought about it.  In fact, the clincher for me was when we were looking for a movie called Gymkata and we couldn’t find it anywhere.  We were talking about it and I wondered if the great Netflix had it.  Bam.  There it was.  Along with all sorts of weird documentaries that we’ve wanted to see like Food Inc and Darius Goes West.  It’s like Christmas.

So we are officially Netflixers.  The only problem?  We got some movies on Tuesday and they are still sitting in the envelope on my desk… un-opened… Wonder if we’ll ever have time to watch these things.

Recommend me some Netflix movies.  What’cha got?

It Might Get Loud – documentary with Jimmy Paige, The Edge and Jack White. Brilliant.

  2. Dude, you’ve got to watch “man on wire”… Sarah and I have been netflixers for quite some time.. its nice to catch up on some tv shows… the watch instantly feature is nice as well.

We love our Netflix. Watched G-Force recently. =)

  5. I second It Might Get Loud.

I love Netflix streaming, especially for TV shows. I’ve watched full seasons of Leverage, Heroes and episodes of Dexter and the IT Crowd.

  6. I love netflix. I have found some interesting shows through the streaming…. Doctor Who (the new series) is my current fascination and I don’t even like science fiction!

I agree with Corey, Man on Wire is really good!!! I also really enjoyed “Taking Chance” if you haven’t seen it, and they have Mystery Science Theater 3K movies if you enjoy those.. I know I do!! If you like documentaries “The Devil’s Playground” was really interesting… as well as “Bela Fleck: Throw Down Your Heart”. Like Corey said, we love watching TV shows. We’ve watched all of the seasons of House and when I’m really bored and nothing’s on TV I’ll turn on an old episode of The Office or Law and Order on Watch Instantly. Our newest TV show obsession is Arrested Development. Hilarious!!

  8. Have you seen “Lars and the Real Girl” or “Reign Over Me”??? Those are two of my favorites. Also, “The Monster Squad”… if you haven’t seen that, it’s the “Goonies” of Monster movies.

  9. Love Netflix! We’ve used it for 6 yrs now. I’ve even had a movie out for like 9 months with no problem & I end up losing them sometimes too. Like the one I left in the seat pocket on an airplane.

  10. I liked Netflix a lot at first, but these days I can NEVER get a movie that has only been out a couple of weeks. They’re always on “long wait”. So if you want to use Netflix to see older movies or tv shows, its’ great. Or to stream some decent stuff it’s great. But to get new releases, it seems best to use RedBox or a similar kiosk.

    Are others getting New Releases?
