No, I don't sleep on a plane or in a car for that matter. I have a slight fear of flying anyway so there is no way I'm gonna sleep on one, unless I just cannot stay awake. This happened to me once back when we could jumpseat for free with my company. A coworker and I flew to San Francisco for the weekend and we were trying to pack so much into our days that we barely got any sleep. On the flight home I started to dose off when lightening hit our plane. Although, everything was okay, it scared me so bad that I was wide awake the rest of the flight.

I'm the same way in a car I have a fear that if I sleep the driver may fall asleep. I'm not taking any chances.

i have to be insanely tired to sleep on a plane. That being said i have two points to make:
1. My brother in law will sleep anywhere, anytime of day.
2. Since I work helpdesk at a firm where people travel constantly, i know the kind of hours they keep. Your time with mercy me in the recording studio is a taste of the type of hours these people work every week, so I can understand how they can do it. I'm just not one of those people. LOL.

im a lot more likely to sleep heavily through flights in the early to mid afternoon actually... even vs one where i got up insanely early or a really late flight.

something about the steady drone, and being made to sit still somewhere extendedly with limited entertainment options... and especially when its a bit warm in the cabin or if i grabbed some greasy airport food for lunch between flights.

the rest of the day i read or do whatever, but afternoon flights make ideal siestas.

I have a great fear of sleeping in public, so no, I do not sleep on planes. This isn't much of an issue for me since I've only flown maybe 8 times in my life. We're road trip people.

Maybe it's the high altitude? :)

Not me though! I LOVE to fly, so I'm too excited to sleep! Whether it's the middle of the day or not! (And the thought of me slobbering on myself or jolting awake in public mortifies me.)

I try to but I usually can't fall into a deep sleep on planes or cars.
I remember one time I did flying back to HI & I heard the ding noise in the cabin along w/ whatever movie was playing and I seriously thought the plane was going down. I'm glad I didn't scream.
