Well, I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas.  We had a pretty chill day at home and it was amazing to not have to be anywhere or do anything except hang out.

I did end up with $40 in iTunes money and I have a couple ideas of some albums to get, but I thought I’d throw it out to you guys and see what you thought.  So here’s the game.  You’ve got $40 to spend on iTunes.  What do you get?  Four full albums?  Individual songs?  What would you get? I want to know.

Now, I’m not saying that I’m going to listen to your suggestions because Chris will throw something in here like Pretty Ricky in there , but I promise to come back and let you know what I got.

Ready?  Go.

My kids each got $20 in itunes cards (me…0.) But, the good news is their new ipods are on my account. We can share! Of course, they bought some Disney channel song that I’ll pass on.
If I had some itunes money to burn, I would get myself some of the new Christmas music that came out. Downhere especially.
If you don’t already have it, I would suggest Jason Gray’s “Everything Sad is Coming Untrue.” You could get 2 whole cds, and use the rest for individual songs…like the elusive “Are My Ears on Straight?” by Gayla Peevey. It’s not on itunes though. I checked. And yes, I WAS going to buy it if I found it.
Merry Christmas a day late, Brody! Glad you had a relaxing time with your family.

I purchase individual songs on iTunes. Some artists I’m not big fans of, but there are songs that I love by that particular artist, so I’ll purchase that song. Otherwise, I go and buy the physical cd.

When Rolling Stone interviews me, I’ll say these are ‘must have’:
    The Dead Weather – Horehound
    Phoenix – Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
Kings Of Leon – Only By The Night
John Mark McMillan – The Medicine

I’d recommend these, but I’m pretty sure you already have them:
    Derek Webb – Stockholm Syndrome
    Switchfoot – Hello Hurricane
    John Mayer – Battle Studies
U2 – No Line on the Horizon

If you ran out of choices and just had to spend it all:
    Pearl Jam – Backspacer
    Jesus Culture – Consumed
    Weezer – Raditude
Sara Groves – Fireflies and Songs (so says Brooke)

I’ve got nothing for you. I can’t even decide what to do with the itunes gift cards I’ve had for 8 months.

Lol… the only ones I can really think right now to recommend are ones you told us about. I recieved a $10 iTunes card and I got some Noah Gundersen songs. I really like “Moss On A Rolling Stone”

Let me go through some songs in my iTunes real quick and see if I can suggest anything else…

I love anything by Needtobreathe. Their newest album “The Outsiders” is really good. I’m a big fan of the Artists United for Africa cd where Christian bands redo U2 songs. I like Between the Trees, Danyew, High Fligh Society, Jason Allen Rich, Jeff Johnson, JJ Heller, Jon McLaughlin…

and I love the newest Boyz II Men album, “Love”…

That’s all I can think of that I really love that by some chance you may not already have.

Oh, and of course any of Sister Hazel’s albums are worth buying. I wouldn’t go with “Lift” though as my first choice. It was good, but it’s my least favorite of theirs.

    Last one, I promise:

    G.Love & the Special Sauce’s “Peace, Love & Happiness”
    Gov’t Mule’s “Soul Shine”
Hootie & the Blowfish’s “Use Me”
    Matthew Mayfield
    Nelo
    Serena Ryder
The two Timmy Curran songs off Eisley’s “Final Noise” EP

    and that’s it.

I love Sting’s new one, especially the tune Soul Cake. Different.

I think I would just get individual songs I know I would like…so like listen to them [or at least samples] before buying them.

But right now I really really really really really want to buy Family Force 5’s “Dance or Die” album and possibly some of the remixes from “Dance or Die With a Vengeance”. Those guys are incredible.
