Grammy Nods
So check this out. Some friends of mine are up for a couple Grammy’s and I wanted to offer up a little congrats to them. Now, I wasn’t really paying attention when they announced them but I have heard through a bunch of people and then I went and looked for myself.
First up, Billy is nominated for two himself, which is pretty awesome. Best Male Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Song. Not bad huh?
Then the boys in Third Day are up for a few. Best Gospel Performance, Best Gospel Song, and Best Rock Or Rap Gospel Album.
The Leeland boys are up for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album.
And SkörInc‘s own Matthew West is up for Best Gospel Song for “The Motions”.
Anyway, it’s pretty cool to see all these guys up for stuff, and it actually gives me a reason to watch the Grammy’s again.
So here’s a question. What’s your favorite ‘Awards show’ to watch? Grammy’s? Emmy’s? Oscars? Golden Globes?

Not really into the award shows. Sometimes I DVR the CMA’s just to watch the band performances.

Not really into awards shows. Too much hype for so little award giving. I say give the awards, cut the hype. No one wants to hear what they already know about all these people, no one wants to hear the presenters ramble on and on, and no one wants all the lame jokes they do. We want performances and awards. If they cut all they hype they could televise the awards they don’t and give credit where credit is due–to those who win awards and not to all the presenters who didn’t.
It depends who is performing. I’ve personally attended the Grammy’s about 5 times, the AMA’s about 6 times, the Billboards 1 time, and the Latin Grammy’s 3 times. I go through music phases, so it just depends on what I’m into and who is performing. For the most part I enjoy the AMAs. This year I’m trying to make it a goal ans attend the Doves (which, is harder because I have to travel to Nashville ratehr than just driving 30 minutes, hehe).
The Doves are my favorite and I do like the Grammy’s sometimes depends on who is performing.
I got to go to the Bammies once and I really liked that. The Bammies are similar to the Grammies only its held in San Francisco and the awards are for Bay area musicians.
