Stats Suck Sunday – In Bullet Points
Welcome to Sunday. So, if you don’t know how this works it’s simple. Basically, no one reads blogs on Sunday and so we all know that our stats will suck. Because of that simple fact, the randomness of any given Sunday can be expressed in these types of blog posts. Bullet points. Of random thoughts. The birth of ‘Stats Suck Sunday’. Feel free to write your own bullet points on your blog and link to it in the comments, or if you don’t have a blog simply write your thoughts in the comments. Here we go.
- This is the one Sunday I have had ‘Off’ since February and the last until October. That seems like I’m gone a lot but it really hasn’t been that bad.
- Blue and I just finished watching a thing called Slamball and it’s pretty awesome. Full contact basketball but with trampolines. I told you it was awesome.
- I did a little survey earlier on Twitter asking what state everyone was in. It’s been pretty cool to see where all you people are from. Here’s a quick list. TX, TN, AZ, CA, MA, HI, OK, IN, KY, FL, LA, AL, CO, NY, NC, SC, Ireland, and “In the car waiting for you”, submitted by Kristin when she was… sitting in the car waiting for me.
- Afternoon coffee is better on cooler days like today.
- We’re gearing up for ‘Mini-Vacation’ number two this week. Should be another fun little getaway with friends.
- I’ve got a big meeting tomorrow. Should be exciting.
- There are three books next to my side of the bed and I have started them all. Haven’t finished any of them. Rob Bell’s “Jesus Wants to Save Christians”, Francis Chan’s “Crazy Love” and Jason Boyett’s “Pocket Guide of The Bible”.
- I’ve been planning on working out all day and now it’s just about time to force myself to do it.
- Horton Hears A Who is weird.
- Joe, the music was mixed perfectly today. I didn’t get a chance to talk to you after, but it sounded great.
- We’ve got some friends coming over tonight, so I need to get going.
Have a great Sunday everyone. Let me know what’s on your mind.

Thanks for the music comment. Bill does a fantastic job mixing. It sounded pretty good in the ears even. There was a nice sonic spread today. Wish we would have had electric guitar today, but it worked out. And one day I’ll get more comfortable playing bass and singing at the same time! HA Looking forward to seeing you back up jammin’ with us after October is out.
What do you think about Rob Bell? I’ve watched a couple nooma videos and I really loved his one titled “Breathe” or “Breathing”… whatever it was. I haven’t really paid much attention to him outside of a couple videos, but I’ve had a few people tell me his theology is sometimes a bit off… although I’ve never actually had them tell me why. I guess I should continue watching and reading to find out, but for now, what do you think?
I read “Crazy Love” and enjoyed it…for a non-fiction book.
Oh, and I never actually knew what the deal was with “stats suck sunday”…i haven’t read your blog long enough to realize it’s simply because stats just suck on sundays… even though since that’s pretty much the title, I should have put that together.
I do have a blog at http://faznuxul.blogspot.com/ but I’m not really a blogger, so I’ll just do it here:
* I completely missed out on Rock the River yesterday for my niece’s 5th birthday party. I’d do it again if I was given the chance, but still am kinda bummed about it.
* John Reuben’s new single “Town Folk” has grown on me. Even the strange video.
* I helped pick up a couple hundred cans of expired diet cokes out of the music minister’s drive way today just because I was that bored. It made me wish I had been there to help put them down over night so I could have seen the prank in all it’s glory.
* I don’t want to bash the president, but I can’t help but wonder why Barak Obama is worthy of a Gospel tribute album.
* I can’t wait for August. Needtobreathe, Sister Hazel, Skillet, Flyleaf, Leeland, and about 7 other bands I like are supposed to release albums.
* I can’t wait for October because Needtobreathe, Mat Kearney, and Brian Regan are all coming nearby to perform.
* I can’t really think of anything else…
Well we went to Brunch @ Commander’s Palace and it was awesome that my two boys (2&4 yrs old) sat through a meal lasting from 11:30-2:30 and didn’t use the flatware as musical instruments whoa….I am so proud. It did help that the jazz band played “around” the restaurant, our table enjoyed “Get your kicks on Route 66″ which was in the movie “Cars” so we scored points with them….
Now one is napping in my arms the other is waitin’ to go to the beach…..so off we go….
Enjoy your second mini-vacation (I love those we get to go to the WI state fair in a few weeks for ours
). Where are you goin’ this time Brody Bunch????
I’m glad you’ve had a pretty mild schedule this past week & for part of this upcoming week. I know the boys have enjoyed having you home. I’ll bet Kristin doesn’t wrestle with them like you do!
I really enjoyed that you answered everything yesterday, whether it had already been asked or not. You may not give yourself enough credit sometimes, because it’s not really about you. But, you have brought a core group together that talk with each other on a daily basis. Then, we tell 10 friends who tell 10 more friends. It’s been a fun journey & I’m glad to be along for the future of Skorinc.

I didn’t get a chance to post an SSS. Had an amazing day hanging with some friends who are becoming quite the musicians.
Brody….read “Crazy Love” asap. The others can wait.
