What Are You Wondering?
So, a long time ago when I started this whole ‘blogging’ thing, I named this blog “…in case you were wondering”. I did that because it left me sort of an open door to write about whatever I wanted with no obligation to stick to one subject and you could read it if you were ‘wondering’ and if not, you didn’t have to. Makes sense right? Well that was about 3 years ago and here we are. I’m still writing about whatever pops into my head that day and there’s a good handful of you that are still reading. But today I want to know what it actually is that you are wondering.
Now, I’ve never done one of these “question and answer” type of things, because, quite honestly, I’ve never actually thought that you guys would want to ask me anything. And this isn’t some “look at how popular I am, don’t you want to know everything about me” type of thing at all. Honestly, this is a “I don’t really know what to blog about and it’s Saturday and so I thought this could be fun” type of thing. Insecure disclaimer done.
So there it is. Ask away. Anything you’ve been ‘wondering’? Anything you want to know? I’ll check throughout the day in the comments and depending on how it goes I will either answer in the comments or make a new post. We’ll see.
Ready? Go.

Remember there is never a Stupid Question?
A: Yes. I do remember that.
Will it be a long summer here in Las Vegas?
A: I have no idea, but if you subscribe to the whole global warming thing, then yes, it will be a long, hot miserable summer in Las Vegas.
What kind of Cold Coffee drink do you like?
A: I used to love the Starbucks Double Shot On Ice. It was cheap and awesome but they stopped making it. Boo Starbucks.
What is your favorite food?
A: Mexican. But real Mexican. And not even that Tex-Mex stuff. Like the real street taco stuff from Mexico or California.
How did it feel to have a shaved head?
A: It’s nice. I still have it. Only I keep going shorter every time I shave it. It’s very liberating to not have to do anything with your hair.
Are you willing to do that again?
A: Totally, but I think we need to get some of the MercyMe guys involved next tour. Or maybe Crowder.
Shellie
How did you & Kristin meet?
A: High School. She was a Sophomore and I was a senior. We didn’t date until after she graduated though.
What first brought you to Nashville to pursue your dream?
A: A friend of mine called me and asked if I wanted to be an assistant on the Third Day / David Crowder tour. I said yes. I’m not sure if that was pursuing my dream but it got me here. I’m still working on the ‘dream’ part.
LisaMongold
Are you done touring with the country folk?
A: No. Not till October.
Are Kyle and Chris coming along on the next R&WRS tour?
A: I’d love for them to, but we need to work out all the details.
When will the tour dates for the R&WRS be posted?
A: When they get booked I would guess. I haven’t heard anything about cities or dates yet.
Does the ‘Brody Bunch’ annoy you at times?
A: Nope. I think it’s fun to have a core group willing to support whatever it is that I get to work on. I just want that group to keep growing.
What kind of dad are you? (fun, strict, play rough with the boys, etc.)
A: Yes. I’m pretty strict when I feel like it has to do with life lessons. You know, doing things right the first time, taking care of things, treating people with respect… that kind of stuff. I hope I’m fun to the boys. We wrestle at least once a day when I’m home. I have a great time with them and it seems like they are having fun. Maybe they are just humoring me.
What do you and Kristin like to do for fun when you get a night out? (movie, coffee shop to talk, etc.)
A: When we were dating Kristin found this card that had two little kids on it walking holding lunch boxes. When you opened the card it said “We’ll be fine as long as we have each other and some snacks”. We’ll do anything together as long as we can be together.
How did you and Kristin meet?
A: High School. I talked a friend of mine into getting me her number. Yep. I was that smooth back then.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would that be?
A: An island of some sort. I used to think that living underground would be cool, but Kristin has gotten me to fall in love it tropical island-y things. So I guess there’s really only one answer. The island that’s in LOST. I could live in the hatch and we could sit around on the beach all day.
Tina B
Out of all the places you have been where do you like the most and why?
A: Hawaii is amazing. We went there on our honeymoon and I’ve wanted to go back ever since. I love the relaxed atmosphere. It could have been that we were on vacation, but I love the hippie, chill lifestyle.
If you could visit anywhere (price no object) where would that be? Why?
A: I mean, if price is no object, the moon has always intrigued me. I bet you could do some pretty cool exploring up there.
Do you enjoy touring?
A: Yes. I like seeing different parts of the country and the way people live. It has ups and downs like anything else, but as far as jobs go, it’s pretty cool.
Does your family ever get to come along?
A: No. Bus space is always pretty limited, and I’m always working for someone else. There aren’t many ‘bring your kids to work’ days on the road.
How many children are you going to have?
A: 3
Names?
A: Eliot (Blue), Aiden, and Cooper.
Ages?
A: Blue: 6, Aiden: 4, Cooper: 2
What is your favorite ACTIVITY to do with them?
A: I love going on bike rides. We’ve done a lot of that this summer because I stole Michael’s bike. Eventually I need to get that back to him. Thanks for reminding me.
How many pets do you have?
A: Dog: Luther – Cat: LuChanda Turner – Gold Fish: Nemo and Bobby Jackson.
What is your Favorite type of food (I.e. Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Home cookin’, etc….)?
A: Mexican. But real Mexican. And not even that Tex-Mex stuff. Like the real street taco stuff from Mexico or California.
Do you cook or does Kristin mostly?
A: Kristin does most of the time. Every once in a while I will give it a shot. I love cooking breakfast, but we rarely eat it, so I don’t do that often.
Where are you from originally?
A: I was born in Long Beach, CA, but grew up just outside of Sacramento.
Do you eat fast food? Fav?
A: Sometimes. With kids there’s no way not to. I like a good Taco Bell every once in a while. I’m really liking their new Piña Colada slush things.
Do your kids collect anything (I.e. Thomas, Pokemon, Legos, etc.)?
A: Not really. They have plenty of toys but nothing specific that they continue to collect.
Joe Grant
Will we see you guys @ TPC-SH tomorrow?
A: Most likely.
gene
When did you first get involved in the music industry ‘officially’ (at least in your mind), and how did you get from there to here?
A: When Kristin and I had Blue I decided and told Kristin that by the time our kids were old enough to know what I did for a living I wanted it to be in the music industry. It started with the call from my friend in Third Day’s camp and from there it’s just been answering the phone and saying yes.
How many tattoos do you have?
A: 7
How’s Nashville?
An amazing 75 degrees with a slight breeze. Perfect summer day to get the yard mowed and go on a bike ride.
Paisley
How did you get involved in the music biz?
A: A friend of mine called me and asked if I wanted to be an assistant on the Third Day / David Crowder tour. I said yes. After that it was just a matter of being available to do the stuff no one else wanted to do.
Did you know any of the artist prior to going into this biz?
A: No. Not anyone in the CCM world.
If you could have any job you desire what would that be?
A: Is a professional family vacationer a job?
How did you and Kristin meet and when did you know that she was the girl you wanted to marry?
A: We met in high school, but didn’t start dating until after she graduated. Something clicked with us and we both knew that we were going to be together for the rest of our lives. One of those “you just know” kind of things.
How did you propose to her?
A: We used to hang out on a train bridge overlooking the city a lot and one night when we were up there talking I pulled the ring out and asked.
What is your favorite movie?
A: I have no idea. I’m not a big ‘favorites’ type of person. I have a lot of stuff I like though.
Do you have a favorite band? Or a favorite song?
A: Not really. I’m a huge fan of Ben Gibbard’s writing though. Can we narrow it down to a genre? Singer-songwriter stuff for sure.
What is the most embarassing thing that has ever happened to you?
A: Probably something I can’t write about on my blog.
Do you have any pet peeves?
A: Kristin is currently helping me list these:
Evan
Do you like churros?
A: Not nearly as much as you.
Why didn’t you post a dance video for the Alright Dance Off?
A: For the sake of all who would watch.
What’s your favorite theme park?
A: I loved Great America when I was younger. I don’t know if it’s called that now, but it’s in the Bay Area somewhere and I think Paramount owns it. Great rides.
Thanks for the Q&A, Brody! Make this very boring day a little more interesting.
Thanks for makin’ me smile.

Thanks for being transparent and honest man … good stuff here.
[...] Okay. It’s Saturday and I’ve got nothing to post, so I’m gonna totally copy Brody and ask what you are wondering about me. I’ve never done a “Q&A” thing [...]
The main question I had you answered about how you got hooked up with the biz in the first place.
So, my next question is The next time you & @thisiskristin come to Kaua’i can we do dinner or lunch at Scotty’s (in honor of Kyle & Colette) or Mexican? I’ll tell my hubby to limit his theology questions.
If you had to punch one of the artists you work with who would it be? and What three musicians would you want to be stranded on an island with?
Ooh.. Will you ask me a question on my blog? haha.. http://evoulie.com/2009/07/18/what-are-you-wondering/
I thought of one more. Hope midnight is the cut-off!
What is the deal with the bunny?

How did you build such a strong follower base?
Did people start commenting on what your posts were right away or did it take time?
What is the motivation behind posting so often>
When did you realize that the whole blogging thing was something that you were going to use to branch out in the music industry?
What is the first blog you check out when opening your browser at the beginning of the day?
Brody,
always love reading your blog and seeing your pics, esp. of your precious Kristin and the boys. i think i can speak for all us fans, when i say we think you do what you do the very best of anyone out there. you keep us in touch with our favorite artists and what projects they’re working on. hate that Kristin and the boys can’t travel with you and know they miss you when you’re on the road. just know that we have them and you in our daily prayers. you’re the MAN!!+
Pokinatcha
The next time you & @thisiskristin come to Kaua’i can we do dinner or lunch at Scotty’s (in honor of Kyle & Colette) or Mexican?
A: Yes.
Janet Vartan
If you had to punch one of the artists you work with who would it be?
A: You mean like a friendly, jock-like punch in the arm? Most of the artists I work with could probably beat me up so I don’t think I would punch any of them. Especially Natalie. She’s tough.
What three musicians would you want to be stranded on an island with?
A: I think Derek Webb would be a fun one to have good conversation with. Damien Rice would be a cool hang I bet, but I have a feeling he’d be pissed a lot. And how could I not go with Bart? We could talk about iPhone apps forever.
Shellie (baylormum)
What is the deal with the bunny?
A: I like it.
Lisa M.
How did you build such a strong follower base?
A: I have no idea. People just started showing up. Honestly I think it has a lot to do with the “famous” folks I hang out with rather than it being that I’m all that interesting.
Did people start commenting on what your posts were right away or did it take time?
A: It took about six months to a year before anyone but my mom commented. It seemed like forever. There was a long stretch of time where I got excited when I got one comment, and I remember it being a big deal when I could go a week and have a comment on every post.
What is the motivation behind posting so often?
A: I just have weird things pop in my head that I like to talk about. Now it’s become sort of a habit for me and when I don’t I feel like I haven’t done something that day. Now, if I could only get that way with working out.
Steven
When did you realize that the whole blogging thing was something that you were going to use to branch out in the music industry?
A: When a group of guys in Florida took me to see alligators on a boat with a fan on the back. I had blogged about wanting to go do that at some point and the next day I was contacted by a couple guys who said they would take me. I realized then, there was power in an online community. That time and the time that I pretended to get arrested and there were a bunch of you collecting money to get me out. That was funny.
What is the first blog you check out when opening your browser at the beginning of the day?
I use Google Reader, so I just use my “Next” button in my bookmarks. It’s a surprise every day. I do need to start commenting more though. I feel like a slacker.
that’s because you are a slacker…
Bro. Why are barns red ? Why does soap clean ?? When is your mom’s birthday ??
Love you, son !
Are you still close to/friends with Shaun Groves? Ya’ll used to comment back and forth on each others blogs quite a bit & worked together for a little while and now nothing. His blog wasn’t even listed on your blogroll for the longest time until somewhat recently. I don’t know why, but I was just curious to know and because I found your blog though his.
Please just tell me if you don’t want to answer or if its none of my business – thanks!
OOOHHHH!! Too many questions.. yet I probably know most of the answers already!! I am the sister after all! Like your most embarrassing moment! HUH??? HAHA Love you?? Oh hey, oh nevermind!!
Wow Brody! You are awesome and I thank God for you and family!! I have missed visiting…currently in Hong Kong on mission trip. Take care and my love to your fam!
Sorry I am so late in the game-fell behind because of life, VBS/Missions week-stuff. My question- how much interest does Bryan owe you on the 8 cents he found on the floor in Idaho at the R&WRS? =) Just kidding.
