Stats Suck Sunday – In Bullet Points
- Vacation.
- Two weeks home in a row. This hasn’t happened since February.
- It’s FREAKING hot outside today.
- I’m currently watching ‘Journey To The Center Of The Earth’ with Blue. Brendan Fraser has found a cinematic niche that is unrivaled.
- My feet still hurt. Thinking it’s time for some band-aids.
- Funny to me that Band-Aids aren’t really called “Band-Aids”. Band-Aid is the brand not the product. Sort of like Frisbee or Q-Tip. Weird huh?
- We’re taking a family trip to Chattanooga this week to visit the Aquarium and all that. Should be awesome to get away hang out for a couple days.
- I’m thinking this time in SkörInc is simply the calm before the storm. Come October we should be slammed. Lots of big stuff coming.
- I’m still super impressed by Derek Webb’s new record and am trying not to talk about it every day, but I Tweeted the other day that I’ve decided to call it “Conspiracy Rock”. Allow me to explain. You know the parts of The Oceans movies (11, 12 and 13) when the plan is all coming together perfectly and the music has a sort of ‘swagger’ about it, because you know something awesome is happening? That’s ‘Conspiracy Rock’. That’s Derek’s new record.
- I’m missing the movie.
Alright Sunday party people. What’s on your mind?

• Let’s get random…
• Celebrating middle daughter’s 12th birthday today (it is actually Tuesday) with family and friends. She has been in remission from cancer for about 18 mos. Halleluiah!
• I am golfing again after two years off and having fun. I have pains in areas that never hurt before so I recommend that you buy stock in Motrin considering the rate I have been taking them.
• Headed to Traverse City, Michigan soon. A week on the beach in Northern Michigan in the middle of the summer can recharge your batteries. Beach weather in the day, and sweatshirts at night…Perfect!
• My oldest daughter (15) has a ‘learners permit’ for driving. She is doing great…but I am still nervous about her driving herself some day.
• The family attended a Detroit Tigers charity event this week and was on TV…for about five seconds. Why do we get excited about something like that?
• Oldest daughter (15) and youngest daughter (8) are on the swim club swim team. Considering how mediocre of a swimmer I am I am amazed at their abilities. I embarrass them by yelling the loudest at the swim meets.
• Middle daughter is being honored by the Detroit Red Wings Alumni tomorrow at the annual golf outing for her bravery and courage in dealing with cancer. She is more excited about driving the golf cart than receiving an award from NHL Hall-of-Fame players.
• There was a terrible car-train accident about four miles from my home Thursday that killed 5 teens. The teen driver passed two vehicles and tried to drive around the crossing gates. The train was traveling 65mph and killed all five instantly. Please talk to your young drivers about the dangers of train crossings.
• One of my favorite bands, Collective Soul, comes out with a new CD in August! I can’t wait.
• Later…
Well not sure how to do bullet points from my phone but this is what I know:
Brunch was great @ the Red Bar considering yesterday’s dinner of PB and Saltines kept me from not passing out from starvation.
The couple of hours of family time (meaning the hubby and itty bitties) was taken up by real estate and prepping for VBS in the early (for the night owl aka me) am. First time doin’ the VBS thang so a little apprehensive about all that is involved with that 10 new kids between the ages of 18 months and 5 years old every 25 min for 2.5 hours should be pretty entertaining.
I need to catch up the laundry and ironing all the while trying to figure out what to cook for dinner tonight and the rest of the week.
But with you askin’ what’s on my mind and makin’ me think about it and realize I am thankful for my life and the time I get with my Boys everything else can wait.
OK, here’s my submission…

Blessings!
Glad you have some down time. Time for the feet to heal a little. Next time, pack the correct footwear!
Had never heard of Derek Webb until about a week ago. Wasn’t impressed when I went to his website. And I listen to some diverse music. Drives my daughter a little nuts!
Have a wonderful couple of weeks. Ride bikes, eat from the garden, watch movies with the kids (and Kristin, of course). Spend a little time with friends. Keep us guessing on what all is coming in October. You know the BlogNation gang is ready to do what we can!

If they aren’t really band-aids what are they?
I got the same sore on the top of my foot from hiking in Chaco Sandals in the Philippines. Put those band-aids on it will make your feet very happy.
