Three Jee Es

apple-iphone-3gs

Yep, I did it.  Now, I had the first generation iPhone.  You know, the one with the metal back and no 3G-ness.  Well, yesterday Mr. FedEx dropped off my Father’s Day present from Kristin and the boys and I immediately started in on setting it up.  It’s not all organized or set up perfectly yet, but it’s getting close.

What’s cool about this whole upgrade thing is that now Kristin can have my old one and let’s face it; What’s not cool about a two iPhone family?  Was that the proper use of the semicolon?  Anyway.  I’m still reading about all the new features, and honestly I’m just glad that I have a phone that doesn’t take thirty seconds to decide to unlock occasionally.

So a big fat, ‘my wife is awesome’ thank you to Kristin and my boys for my new distraction that I can also use for work.  So I know a bunch of you out there already have the new iPhone, so what’s your favorite thing so far?

I haven’t gotten to really play with my iPhone yet, but I’ve enjoyed having the video feature on this phone while out of the country.

Since I refuse to provide you with anymore technical bullet lists.

I will say that my favorite part about you getting a 3g iPhone is
I can have a conversation with you without those “I think I lost you, you seem to have gone into a no telegraph coverage zone”

You know.. this 3gs may be too much phone for you. How about I send you my 3g and you send me the 3gs until I think you are ready.

I like how you can text people, and how you can call people. Those features are amazing. Yeah.

  4. i’m pretty sure the semicolon should just be a comma.

My favorite thing so far? Not having one! The “i” craze is bad enough, but couple it with AT&T and you couldn’t give me one. I’ll stick to my very reliable, stable and secure Blackberry thank you.

  6. i don’t have the new one… i’m so ridiculously envious right now. but then again, i JUST got an iphone a couple months ago for the first time, so i’m still kinda a newbie to it… don’t know if i’m ready for that next step of awesomeness yet or not

I have the T-Mobile G1 and if u could LOVE a phone I certainly do…Well, before this one I had one that almost had a spiral cord and battery pack so needless to say I am elated (did I spell that right?)…It is so nice to have Google at my fingertips as I typically have more questions than answers throughout my day, week, month and year. If a phone can stir up emotion this on certainly does in ME…Technology ROCKS is all I have to say love or hate it IT STILL ROCKS~Again congrats on your new advancement you are gonna LOVE@ it….

  8. I just wanted to say that “Three Jee Es” needs to be a rap groups name. They would probably suck.

  9. I think that a full colon would actually be more appropriate.

  10. I took a technical writing class, and the teacher told us “just never use semicolons… no one knows when to use them.”

And I agree with Kyle… I just wish there were another way to write out “three”

  11. semi-colon was fine, but the w after shouldn’t be capitalized. :D

have fun w/ur new toy, brody!!

  12. altho i do agree w/annie. full colon : would have been more appropriate here…

  13. video and gps with compass. 3g is also a nice upgrade, since i had the 1st gen iphone as well.

  14. no iPhone here, though if Verizon picked it up next year…

Semi-colons are used between two independent clauses. If both parts of your sentence can stand alone as their own sentence, you can use a semi-colon. :) My favorite new thing about the iphone is looking at all the cool apps on everyone else’s. Maybe one day…

  16. I think that’s the spot for a dash… it’s more dramatic than a colon, and that’s not exactly the right place for a semicolon.

    What does 3G mean?
