i have a myspace page, but haven’t logged in for months. I’m on facebook and twitter almost constantly, though.

No MySpace for me. Ryan has one, though, and he mainly uses it to network with people in his line of work. I bet FB would actually work better, but I think he’s afraid of losing those contacts. Many of them make announcements and job postings at MySpace, still. I guess the film industry is as far behind as the music industry?

yeah, i’m certainly using myspace less and less.
I get adds from people (just sayin, but usually “up and coming, comparable to…” Christian bands), and wonder “is this still your main attempt at attracting attention?”

Such is the curse of the information age. Life Changes Fast.

So would you say the new standard medium is a blog (say, um, a wordpress site..) over a bling and blang special effects flash integrated morph-tastic website?

I feel like websites have gone through the gammit of PowerPoint presentations. Noises and animation with *every* click were cool for awhile, but we’re beginning to realize simple does the trick just fine.

MySpace is, and always has been, SUPER LAME. The only redeeming quality about the site was the ability to discover new music back in its heyday. MySpace is now trying to compete by trying to be like Facebook. Their interface and navigation still completely suck, though, as it has from the beginning of the site.

That said, I still have my MySpace accounts. But I haven’t even logged onto them in at least a month, if not longer.

I’m a little surprised by “the rest” of the list. No Flickr? No Babycenter.com? There are several others I can think of that appear to be insanely popular that aren’t on the list, when I haven’t heard of half the sites on the list.

I started with myspace a couple of years ago and was addicted for awhile. I opened a facebook last july, and kept both for about 6 months. I gave up myspace for good as a new year’s resolution. I luv facebook, hate myspace.
