Shoes
I used to be a bigger shoe fan than I am now. I used to go to Salvation Army or Goodwill and find some shoe that fit good enough, and would wear that for a while then find something new. I never really got into the ‘expensive’ shoe thing though, simply because I could never justify it. Although I did have a sweet pair of Nike 180 Pumps when I was in eighth grade.
Now that I’m older my shoe interest has dropped drastically. With my frequent visits to airports I have resorted to things that don’t tie. Black Vans, and Flip Flops, and of course, the old standby, the Converse Chuck’s. Pretty simple but they get the job done.
All together I think I have six pairs of shoes. All for a certain purpose. My Chuck’s for daily use, flip flops for summer, trashed Vans for yard work, black boot things for dressing up, my non-space athletic shoe and Uggs. Yeah, I have Uggs. Call me Brittney Spears or whatever, but they are crazy comfortable and amazing winter shoes.
Not bad huh? I mean sure it’s more than some people and I know there are people in the world with no shoes and all that. And I completely agree with anyone in the comments that says that we should give shoes to people that need them. But here’s what I want to know. And I want you to be honest. How may pairs of shoes do you own? Total. Not something like, “Well, I don’t really wear those except for once a year, so they don’t count” type of thing. I want a total. And I know there’s some readers on here with some collections. Especially you worship leaders. (Kidding. Don’t freak out).
So let’s hear it. How many (total) pairs of shoes do you have right now.
Ready? Go.

I rather tell you my age than how many pairs of shoes I have.

You’re kidding, right? I couldn’t even estimate. Now you’ve got me curious, I need to go count. I’m gonna estimate 75. I should really get rid of some to make room for the new ones.
Daily boots, Work boots, Dress shoes, Walking shoes, & Birkenstalks
Done…
I have 10 pairs of shoes, but only wear 3 on a regular basis and they were purchased over 1 yr ago, the rest over 10 yrs ago. Sad but true. My kids come before me with clothes and shoes.
I have about 20 pair. These have accumulated from the past 10 yrs. Being a country girl….I really don’t need too many dressy shoes, so I only really use 4 pair in the summer, and maybe 4 in the winter….I’m all about comfort and ease of wear!
9 pairs of boots and shoes
Technically I have 5. I got some old slippers and some old croks in the closet that i NEVER wear.
Of what I do wear, I have some work shoes, some church shoes, and some more croks.
I would have to guess, around 50.

ratty pair of tennis shoes #2

uggs
and a pair of rubber ‘shower’ sandals, for nasty places
…kinda a lot.
I can think of 26 right now, but I’m probably forgetting a few. Round it up to 30.
I have only 2 pairs of shoes. Tennis shoes that I only wear when I go walking and a pair of Chaco Slippahs. I mostly go barefoot.
I buy expensive slippaha ie..Chacos, Birkenstocks because they last me longer.
I would guess I have 30 pairs of shoes, but not I have to go count them. (It’s the OCD thing…I HAVE to know now.) Now that my daughter wears the same size show as I do, I borrow hers too.
19, but only because I work in an office and need to have shoes that match my outfits. If it were up to me I’d go barefoot.
Atleast 25.
Worship leader…and metro…
So I feel my current total of 19 is a little on the low side to do justice to either of those tags.
But I don’t care.
9, about 3 of which get any frequent use.
and if you find yourself wanting to wear tie shoes to the airport, replace your shoelaces with the same width elastic (usually in white or black) from the fabric department cut to same length. thread as normal, tie in double knot, and they will loosen enough when pulled to slide on and off quickly, but still look and act like normal laces… even in professional shoes.
(also works really well when your kids shoes are big enough its hard to find much velcro, but they dont like to tie them yet)
I’m afraid that an answer would require a long counting, and a long counting would turn into a tearful purging of unessential footwear that bear emotional value to me. But I digress…
Okay, per the “rules” I will count ALL pairs, but I reserve the right to justify/explain in further detail…
Spring – flats, sandals, open-toed heels, backless dress shoes, backless casual
Summer – flats, sandals, open-toed heels, backless dress shoes, backless casual
Fall – heels, flats, boots
Winter- heels, flats, boots, boots, boots
My running shoes (and soon to add, my racing flats as well)
I own no Uggs. I own no Crocks. I own no slippers.
All TOTAL – 36 pairs (which I believe is not THAT bad considering…)
P.S.
I like Evan’s answer. Lol.
Oh, I forgot to say… Yes, I wear all of them.
Gotta share the love!
4 — 1 pair of sandals
2 pairs of laceups I can wear without my ankle-foot orthotics
1 pair of orthopedic shoes that I have to wear with my AFOs
Makes life much simpler, really. I don’t have nearly as many decisions to make in the mornings as some people do.
I own 2 pairs of identical-except-color Tevas, 2 pairs of identical-except-color running shoes, and one pair of Mary Janes for work.
Yes, I am actually female. Yes, my husband has more shoes than I do.
