Stats Suck Sunday – In Bullet Points

stats_suck_sunday

Welcome to Sunday.  I got off the bus this morning at about 3AM so I’m a little out of it right now, but I wanted to make sure to throw a bunch of randomness on here and bore you all to tears.  It is amazing to be home on a Sunday where my phone isn’t ringing like crazy and I don’t have 200 emails to sort through.  I love that people take Sunday off.  And speaking of that, who’s ready for some random thoughts?  In bullet points of course?

  • The Minority Report is a weird movie.
  • Not only is the Minority Report a weird movie, but it’s weird that it set in 2054, which doesn’t seem all that far away.
  • I completely forgot about Colin Farrell.  But I’m sure everyone pretty much has too.  Except for maybe his mom and some close friends.
  • Quizno’s takes Subway any day, but I’ll give it to Subway for trying.
  • I’m going to go ahead and say it.  Go Rockets.  Yeah, I said it.  Anyone who’s up against the Lakers is a friend of mine.  Beyond that I’ve got to go with LeBron.  He deserves a win this year.  But really does it matter as long as the Lakers lose?
  • I’ve finally just now gotten Country Music out of my head for the week.  All it too was a little Killers, and now we are good until Thursday night.
  • I’m still a little bummed that the WayFM DJ lady ruined The Biggest Loser Finale for me the other day.  I still haven’t seen the finale, but I also saw a People Magazine on the table in catering the other day with the winner on the cover.  Boo.  There’s almost no point in watching it.
  • I’m pretty amazed that Natalie Grant has crossed the 10,000 Followers mark on her Twitter with 10,219.  It’s pretty impressive really.
  • Speaking of Natalie, I’m really excited about some things on the horizon with her and several other artists that we are working with.  Big things are happening.
  • I’ve got three meetings in the next two days which brings me back to why I’m glad that people still take Sundays off.
  • I’m planning on buying a new pair of jeans this week and I’m a little stressed about the whole thing.  I’m bad at ordering a sandwich, let alone picking out something that I have to wear as often as a pair of jeans.
  • Tom Cruise is about to get his eyes replaced and it’s really distracting me from typing this.
  • Isn’t basketball on yet?
  • Pineapple juice is good.

Have a great Sunday folks.  What’s on your mind?

    WallyfromMichigan ‘Stats Sunday’…
    • The grass is so green and beautiful in the spring. Everybody’s lawn looks good. It takes until July (in Michigan) until you can tell the difference between the ‘posers’ and those who work at it.
    • Today’s forecast: Perfect day…67 degrees and sunny! Sunday’s that are 67 degrees and sunny are also know as ‘Mandatory grilling day’.
    • I don’t have to mow the grass today…took care of that yesterday.
    • Confirmation service at Church today…I could barely find a seat.
    • I am a big fan of consumer electronics but the DVR blows them all away. It has changed my life…I no longer care what time a game starts I just have to se the DVR.
    • Did I mention that I emptied the grass catcher 10 times mowing the lawn yesterday? The grass is so heavy and wet. Lots of rain.
    • Took Christine to University of Michigan, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital for blood work and Six-month scans Friday…praying for NED. No Evidence of Disease. Dr.’s sometimes call a day or two later…Will the doctors call today?
    • Being an eleven-year–old cancer survivor is not big deal to her. She had a choice of Relay-For-Life (Canton, MI) or Cedar Point Amusement Park. You guessed it, she chose the roller coasters.
    • Back to the DVR…I feel in control of my life again. Kids have a dance recital or swim meet, I won’t miss the game because I can start it from the beginning when we get home.
    • Clara has a soccer game today. Coach Crissy is so good to those little girls (Thanks!) and Clara is the best defender! I am not a soccer fan but I love watching her play soccer.
    • One more thing about the DVR…Did I mention that you can fast forward through the commercials! So basically, even when we are home we don’t start watching an event until well into it so we can fast forward through the commercials.
    • Oh yeah, The King’s Brass (www.kingsbrass.org) are playing at church tonight. Looking forward to it.
    • Panic is starting to set in…playing golf with my company VP tomorrow and basically haven’t played golf in the last two years. Fortunately it is a scramble format so we get to pick up the bad shots. At least I will get a day out of the office.
    • I think I will grill burgers…can it get any more American than that?

That’s what is on my mind today…

  5. Nothing beats Subway for me!

    Good luck with the jeans.

  6. That IS such a freaky movie! My husband wanted me to watch it with him, and he loved it. I thought it was just so strange. And the eye-replacing just…ew. Thanks for reminding me. At least tonight I get to watch the season finale of 24. Speaking of weird movies, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was odd too.
