Salvador Live

salvador_live

Alright everyone.  The other day we mentioned briefly that we had launched Salvador’s new site, but today I want to give it an online, proper SkörInc welcome.  Now, there’s a couple things we are doing differently with Salvador and I’m excited to get it all going.  You’ll notice all the regular stuff like the blog, the Flickr, the Twitter and all that, but this time we are also venturing into online store stuff.

Oooohh, aahhhhh.

That’s right.  SkörInc and Salvador have partnered to try out a little something special that I’m really excited about.  Online sales.  Obviously right now, there’s nothing there as we are still working out some of the details, but I’m really excited to get things going.

So anyway, check out Salvador’s new site and let me know what you think.  Click around and make sure everything is good to go and visit there often.

Ready?  Go.

Video Chat

video_chat

Today I finally had the chance to video chat Kristin and the boys.  Normally when they have time I am running around doing things, and then I have time, it’s the middle of the night or something.  But not today.  Today we were able to chat for about an hour or so, and Blue and I were able to play our game that we invented.

Here’s how we play.  He types something in iChat and I have to try to find it on the keyboard and duplicate it.  Then it’s my turn to type something and he has to find it and type it back to me.  Pretty awesome huh?  He’s gotten pretty good at it and still doesn’t know that ‘Copy and Paste’ exists, so I’m good.

We’re headed home tomorrow which I’m really excited about.  It’s been a great week, but a long one.  Hawk Nelson is playing right now, and I’ve got to go get ready for the show.

Dang Dallas

dallas_crowd

Dallas blew me away last night.  Easily one of the loudest most ‘in to it’ crowds we have seen on the tour.  I took this picture just a few minutes before I got the call that were going to be able to broadcast Jeremy.  See, typically when I’m not running the broadcast I am running around taking pictures, and doing other things.  Multi-tasking is awesome.  But last night I was literally at the back top of the arena and I get a text message.  ’Where are you.  We are going to broadcast Jeremy’.  Hmmm…. Well, give me a sec.  I’m about a mile away.

Anyway, I think everything went well.  We had the biggest night ever online, the biggest crowd of the tour and there were even several hundred people outside watching on screens on the side of the building.  Dang, Dallas.  I guess everything is bigger in Texas.

Today we are in Oklahoma City, and I woke up with a sore throat.  Lovely.  I think it’s finally caught up with me and now I have a few days on the road with this cold, or whatever it is.

We’ve got some special guest visiting the tour tonight and I think the stream will be… let’s say…. continuous.  Make sure your watching tonight, as it will be completely different than the rest of the tour.  I’m off to find some orange juice.

Baton Rouge Visitors

hip_hop_jesus

So, I’m not entirely sure what they were protesting, but we had several protestors show up tonight and say we were going to hell.  So I did what any normal blogging idiot would do and went out and stood with them for about an hour.  I never talked to anyone, except to invite them in when the doors opened, but mostly just observed and took some video.  Most of the protestors were nice, but there were two that got pretty fired up.  The ‘main’ pastor or whatever and another guy.

I think the part that weirded me out the most was them all dressing the same and how sad they all looked.  No joy in Jesus I suppose.

The Original Tweet And Greet

introducing_tweet_and_greet2

So a few weeks ago, over on the MercyMe blog we introduced Tweet & Greet.  Well, I wanted to take it a step further and today I’d like to introduce to you the SkörInc Tweet & Greet extravaganza.  Aren’t you excited?  Here’s how it’s going to work.  I’ve talked to all the artists that SkörInc works with and we have decided to make Tweet & Greet a massive thing.  Basically the idea is that every artist that we work with will be sending their Tweet & Greet locations to a specific Twitter address.  What’s that specific Twitter address you ask?  What else?  www.twitter.com/tweetandgreet.

Now here’s the cool part.  We’re working with a handful of artists that are always traveling the country and always looking for great places to hang out.  Now by following Tweet & Greet you will have the opportunity to meet any one of them at any given time.

So now it’s time to spread the word about this thing and make it huge.  I know these artists are super excited about being a part of something like this and I’m excited to see how this goes.    So get over there, follow www.twitter.com/tweetandgreet and tell your friends.  There’s a lot of tours in a lot of cites and these artists want to meet you.

Ready?  Go.

I’m ‘Green’ And I Can Prove It.

eco_composite_backboard

So, I was just cleaning out the garage and came across this basketball hoop box that my parents got the boys for Christmas.  I decided to use this box to hold other boxes that we have laying around from our various moves and want to hang on to in case we need them.  I noticed that the box said that the backboard was an ‘Eco-Composite Backboard’ and it got me thinking.  What’s an ‘Eco-Composite Backboard’ anyway?  So, naturally I went to the old interweb to take a look.  Here’s what I found.

A composite is a solid material composed of two or more substances having different physical characteristics and in which each substance retains its identity while contributing desirable properties to the whole, an ecocomposite is:

1. A combination of all natural materials, such as a split cane fly fishing rod
2. A combination of natural or recycled fibers with natural or recycled matrix material, such as wood fiber and recycled plastic lumber
3. A combination of synthetic materials which is nontoxic and easy to fully recycle

Booo-ya.  Can you believe how Earth-friendly and ‘Green’ I am?  I’m pretty impressed with myself.  I also have had three smoothies this week, and hummus twice.  Oh yeah, and I’m wearing khaki shorts.
