Everyone Says It, But I Really Mean It
What?!! Most of you already know but, I found out the other day that I am among the list of those nominated for a Dove Award. Weird huh!? At first I thought it was a joke, until I looked it up for myself and there it was. Completely and totally random.

Holy crap! Now here’s the thing. This is a complete accident for more than one reason. First off, I wasn’t even contracted (or asked) to be a photographer on this tour. I was road managing Phil at the time and I literally had some time to kill during the shows and thought it would be fun to take some pictures. That turned into the Crowder guys liking them and wanting to use some of them on the DVD/CD and now this. Seriously?! Second, I have no idea what I am doing with a camera! I don’t know how to mess with the settings, or lighting or anything. I’m completely blown away.
Now, here’s the thing. I’m guessing Hawk Nelson will win this, and that’s completely fine. This is truly, 100% a time where I can say, “It is an honor just being nominated”. Don’t get me wrong, I’d like to win, but based on the circumstances of how I have completely stumbled into this situation, I’m good with whatever happens. I suppose this is just one of those things, where all I can do is laugh and see what happens. Thanks for all the kind messages the other day from all of you… I’m sorry I thought you all were kidding. I’m still a little weirded out.

That is just so cool! Falling into stuff like that is sometimes the best way. I’ve seen some of the other photos you’ve taken, and it has more to do with what you are seeing and capturing than with the lighting and stuff. I think you take amazing pictures! Especially the ones of your sweet boys. Congrats again, on the nomination. What are you wearing to the awards? Your hat surely! How else will we all spot you?
For someone who says he has no idea what he is doing with a camera, you did an excellent job. Accident or not, the work is really good and it is your work. I hope you win.
Congratulations again! The photos I’ve seen that you’ve taken look pretty darn good for someone who doesn’t know anything about their camera. Can’t wait to see your stuff when you do know how to work it!

Not to sound redundant, but you take some gooooood pictures! Intentionally or unintentionally, you have some serious talent. I think my favorite is still the picture of Mark with the light behind him and fog around him.

I like how Paul J. talks about his winning a Grammy . The Grammy was mailed to him, regular shipping, not certified or insured. He open it and found a not saying that the award really belonged to the Academy, not him. And some assembly was required. Keeps ‘em honest, I guess.

CONGRATS!!!! I think no one can understand what being nominated feels like until you are. My guess is that ThisIsKristin first saw shock and bewilderment on your face, then a grin that wouldn’t come off with a sand blaster! That’s about the look my husband had when I saw him the first time after he found out about the concert halls ACM nomination. You deserve to grin all you want, and you know we think you are awesome.
