Sac-Town In Memphis (Two)

Well, we made it home from Memphis. The Kings beat the Grizzlies 115-106 so it appears the trip was a success. Blue decided that he was going to cheer for the Grizzlies the entire night because he liked courts with bears on them. He changed his ways with about thirty seconds left in the game and I told him that the Grizzlies were about to lose. Aiden couldn’t figure out why the dancer girls were in their underwear and just assumed that they were going swimming after the game and Cooper couldn’t help but roll around on the floor until his hair stuck. Today we’ve got three new basketballs being bounced around our kitchen and Blue ended up getting a Grizzlies sweatshirt, because he apparently also like sweatshirts with bears on them.
It was amazing to get away and ‘unplug’ for the time that I could. There’s something so refreshing about getting away with Kristin and the boys and being able to relax…. even if everyone is too excited to fall asleep in the hotel until two in the morning. Back to it this week, including a big announcement that most of you already know, but deserves a post all it’s own.

I glad you had a good time. If you get to come back to Memphis again and have some time to spend here, there are some neat places to go as well as to take the kids.
We live in Central MS and took a trip up to Memphis a few years ago and watched the Grizzlies play. We were actually there because it was their faith and family night and Jars of Clay was performing after the game. The basketball game against the Minnesota Timberwolves was an added bonus for us. Even though we aren’t NBA fans, we still had a great time watching the game, in which Memphis won in 2 OT periods. The Jars concert was excellent as well.

Sounds like a really fun family trip!!! Kids remember that stuff for ever!
Congratulations on the Dove Award! I was at the press conference on Friday and was very happy to hear that!!!
My husband keeps looking at me funny as I am giggling while reading something on the computer. Your description of each kids take on the experience had ME rolling on the floor until my hair stuck! Great catch to help Aiden put the Grizzly Girls where they belong in those outfits-in a swimming pool. I’m glad you could “get away” before you get really busy with work.
I love hearing how kids view things. I agree with him on those “dancing girls”- they need to cover up the underwear. I’m glad you got to get away with the fam before this next tour starts. It will keep you busy I’m sure.
