Thirty

painted-faces

I’ve known Randy since we were seven.  We were on the same little league baseball team together.  We went to Jr. High and HIgh School together, graduated together and now we work together.  Today he turns thirty, and that completely weirds me out.  Thirty?  Really?  What the heck happened?

We’ve got a ton of stories over the past twenty-three years.  Some that we can look back and laugh at and some that we would never tell our kids to avoid the risk of them acting like us, and I’m sure there are plenty more to come.

Randy’s been in Tennessee for about six months now, we’ve had a pretty cool time living in the same city again, and one thing’s for sure.  SkörInc wouldn’t be what it is today without him working way too many hours making things work right.  Today he’s taking the day off work, and see what this whole new decade of life is all about.

So, head over to Randy’s blog and wish him a ‘happy thirty’.  And for those that have already crossed the ‘thirty’ line, I’m curious, did you notice anything change?

Happy Birthday Randy.

“Thirty”

  1. I “crossed over” to the thirties two years ago…and I’ve honestly enjoyed my thirties way more than my twenties…so far.

Off to wish Randy a Happy Birthday on his blog…

  2. If you’d like to laugh at me, you’ve got to go read the comment I left on Randy’s blog – http://tinyurl.com/cshxwr – I still can’t believe I did that…

  3. How about the 50 line! When I was 30 I had a 1 year old to chase. I’d only had 1 back surgery. My brother turned 49 yesterday and he’s kind of bummed. Wondering what he’ll be remembered for. Now I’m bummed!

  4. I’m not noticing anything at the moment, but I’ll let you know by the end of the day….

By the way, take more pics with your phone that!!! That pink thingy in your “What I’m Seeing” section is weirding me out!!!

  5. I’m a bit past the 30 mark. I am now 41 – eek. I didn’t really notice any changes past 30. Each year just felt the same. My most care/free years were probably 30 – 35 yrs old. Yes I had responsibilities, but I don’t remember worrying as much. I had a close circle of friends and we were always up to something with our kids, etc.

The forties you start to think more about the big things – college for kids – retirement for us – investing in more long term investments, etc.

All in all though … it’s ALLLLLL good. I’m happy with me!

  6. Three years into my 30′s, and I’m enjoying this decade, so far. I didn’t notice any big difference, crossing over.

  7. I turned 30 two years ago. I look better and feel better than when I was 18, though I don’t have as much energy without caffeine.

  8. Just remember you both have great stories to share with your kids and also great blackmail material. My best friend race_12_1 have known each other for over 26 years.

  9. Paisley

Close friendships are wonderful and something to be cherished. I wished Randy a happy birthday and you guys enjoy the birthday dinner tonight.

  10. First don’t believe everything Sylvia says about me =). When I crossed the 30 mark I was pregnant with my 1st and only child so I didn’t feel like it was anything major. The early 30′s for me were what the mid 20′s are for most people. Then BANG right in the middle of them I got sick. So honestly I can’t wait to see what my 40′s bring!

  11. I’ve just crossed the half-way point in my 30s. I’d be lying if I said there was noticeable change at turn of the decade, but with each year I feel better equipped to deal with whatever life throws at me. And I’m in better physical and spiritual shape…which probably explains it.

  12. and i make fun of kyle for being 26…
