Pray For This Guy

ac_hat

Ever since Aiden was born he has had, what sounded like, a rattle in his chest when he takes short breaths or plays too hard.  The doctors said it was something called ‘Tracheomalacia‘ and that it would go away the older he got.  Now that he’s four his doctors aren’t so sure that it will go away on it’s own and he may need surgery.  Basically what it means is that part of his throat isn’t as strong as it should be… I think.  The surgery would do something to remedy that, but I don’t know many of the details.  On top of that, he has also had a ‘sunken chest’ or Pectus Excavatum, which has the potential to affect his heart and lungs the older he gets.  Again, something the doctors hoped would go away but hasn’t.  And again, on top of that (as if that wasn’t enough) the doctors noticed a heart murmur that they are concerned about and we need to get looked at pretty quickly.  This could all be because of his chest or could possibly be something else.

Last week Aiden had some x-rays done to make sure his chest wasn’t pushing too much on his lungs and tomorrow we have an appointment at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital for an echocardiogram to make sure that his heart murmur isn’t being created by his chest or if it is something completely different.  I’m not sure the next steps that would need to be taken if there is an issue with his heart, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.  We’re pretty convinced everything will be okay but would envy your prayers for this little guy.

Thanks so much and we will keep you all posted.

Gotta’ch covered Bro. Aiden’s in good hands with Our Father. We also pray for you and Kristin for strength, clear heads, and for a peace that can only come from Him. For Aiden we pray for medically unexplainable corrections for the heart murmur and growth not inhibited by these issues. We also pray for an absence of fear for him as he is poked and prodded. Let the Mrs and I know if we can help in any way. We’d be proud to keep the boys if you need help in that way.

  16. Praying. For some peace of mind, for fear to be banished, for doctors who can explain things in human, not doctor-eze. For those doctors to find the problem & chart a solution. Even thought we’ve never met, my heart strings feel a tug! :)

  20. Done! Job 5:8-9 is posted next to my bathroom mirror:

“But if I were you I would appeal to God, I would lay my cause before Him. He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.” Job 5:8-9

That is so beyond what we can understand, but I know its true.

  25. Thank you for sharing, Brody. Your family is a blessing from God and very dear to my heart for He never fails to bring you all into remembrance…

LORD, Jehovah-Rapha, I surrender young Aiden to Your care knowing that nothing is ever impossible for You and no healing is beyond Your capability. Thus, please continue to grant Brody, Kristin and rest of loved ones, strength, hope and peace of mind for You see all (El Roi) and are in control so much so that You are not limited by the physical nature of the universe. We pray for the anointing of Your Holy Spirit and Your healing touch/balm of Gilead on Aiden from head to toe. May Your will alone be done, abba Father.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

Psalm 121:3 My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.

In Yahweh’s precious and mighty name, amen!

  29. Brody and Kristin – I’ve been out of town and just saw your post on precious little Aiden.
I want you to know I am praying for him and asking the Lord, Our Great Physician, to touch his little body. Every organ, every function, every cell – bathe it in His Spirit. I am not you. My children are not yours. But, I do understand what it’s like when your child or children are in great need. I am lifting up Aiden in Jesus’ name. Rest assured you are not alone in this journey.
    Blessings and prayers ~ Melody

  30. I will definately be praying! My daughter, Mika, has a mild form of trachiomalacia (either that or laragiomalacia – the dr’s can’t decide) due to silent refux. I know it’s been scary for us just with a mild form that has mostly gone away. Lots of prayer for you and Aiden!
