Maybe I Was Mean…
Okay, so maybe my last post was a little harsh, if you don’t know anything about the guy in the video. He’s clearly giving his guitar lessons a shot and maybe me saying he sucked like my stats did today wasn’t the nicest. I can hear you all now. “Why would Brody be making fun of Jack from LOST when all he wants to do is teach us how to play hymns?”. But here’s the thing. Click on this link or maybe this link and tell me if he looks familiar. Here’s a hint, he’s not Jack from LOST.
I’m not saying that he’s really a total idiot, or that he sucks at guitar or anything like that. What I am saying is that he’s a freaking crazy that screams arrogance and ignorance to me. So, I apologize if I have offended anyone, but check out those links and come back and tell me I am wrong.

No need to apologize, Brody! I once went on a missions trip to Mexico with some folks who are of the same mindset as this dude. Freakin’ crazy these kinds of people … with no regard for engaging with Christ intellectually. Everything is 100% black or white .. and that’s wrong.
black and white = not wrong.
hating people and pissing on them = wrong.
playing the guitar = not wrong.
using guitar only around camp fire = wrong.
hating on billy graham = wrong.
preaching a message titled “why billy graham is going to hell” = wrong.

I don’t know if i’ve gone sappy in my years but I feel sad for people like this. I mean I laugh and it’s ridiculous, but how sad that one of the main fruits we should be able to see about people is JOY. You can tell this man lacks that completely, even in his family photo.
The sad part is that he gets his reassurance from ridicule and tearing down of other people rather than from glorifying God. He totally misses the point and the joy of being a Christian.

Hey, sometimes I pee sitting down. But only when I’m really tired. I wonder if he can pee and play the guitar standing up. Sounds kinda fun, actually. Maybe that will be his next Youtube lesson.
