The Wireless Church
Sorry I have been away today. I have been fighting with the internet gods all day today and losing. Now, I’m not one to really have problems with things, or even really complain about stuff, but I do get frustrated when it seems like everything is going wrong all in the same day. Even down to my camera battery dying.
Well after about six hours of working on stuff, I think we finally have a way to broadcast the show tonight, so, I’m glad that can at least be done, but here’s my question. Does your church have wireless? Do you see a need for a church to have wireless?
I know it’s not much of a post, but that’s about as good as I can get right now.

we do have wireless.
i definitely think it’s helpful, useful and a benefit.
to be perfectly honest, i’ve yet to have a reason to actually have my laptop out at the church to find out! LOL
i have actually had it along in my bag a couple of times at prayer meetings when i came directly from somewhere else… but then, i have a wireless card so half of the time when I have it out and am using it somewhere away from home I forget to even check if the place has wifi to use that instead.
i suppose wifi in a church would be a two edged sword. yes, it would be helpful to the staff probably… but then, depending on your youth group… and the level of technical understanding of the staff… it might cause more issues than it helps overall.
If my church had wireless (and I don’t think it does but I’ve never asked), I’d hang out and drink coffee and do work from there instead of my dining room table.
But my church’s coffee shop isn’t open during the day anyway, thus even if they do have wireless, I would have no place to hang out and drink coffee and work.
Bet I could find one though.
Our church has wireless, but only around the office.
It also has a very strong filter.
It’s esp. helpful for laptops.
We have wireless. You’d be surprised how often we’re glad we do, not so much from a church perspective, but from a working there perspective. We’ve never, to my knowledge, had an attender (parishoner?) want to use it.
If we do, they would never tell us. I work in the school there, and it would be really helpful for me, but they are so weird about internet access in general, I don’t see it happening. We don’t have a coffee shop or anything either, so I don’t see that they will ever even see the need.
Again, I want to thank you for working so hard to get the show online tonight. We enjoyed it as always! I even got one of my “real life” friends to show up, and while we didn’t make it to 200 people the fact that 1 friend listened to my twitter makes my day.
We do have wireless access with password of course.
However, per need? Sure, it could be beneficial!
yeah we have wireless for our cafe and throughout most of our church..its handy for iPhone users, and also when we are having concerts bands seem to love it!
We have wireless and it is great to have for team meetings and to use when you are waiting for someone and need to get some work done AND if your router goes out you can hop up to the building and use the wireless there.
