Positive Post Tuesday
Well, today is Tuesday and as most of you know it’s also voting day. Quite honestly I’m about ready to be done hearing about the election but I am interested in what’s going to happen. I have a feeling I know what is going to happen, but I’m curious to see how this election plays out. Now, here’s the thing. I don’t really have a ton of “personal passion” behind this election, but I do realize it’s historical affect on our country. Not because of what each particular President will do but because of who they are. Today America will be electing either it’s first African-American President, or electing it’s oldest President in history and first woman Vice President. History will be made today, and I will have no part of it.
Now, I have to be honest with myself and all of you and tell you that I really have to try hard to be interested in this election. I have forced myself to pay attention, forced myself to care. See, I’m just not that political. To me it’s like arguing over music taste. You will never get the other person to see your side, and even if you can, pride will step in the way and no one will admit they were wrong. Maybe it’s apathetic, maybe it’s me being a bad American, but I’ve had a hard time caring.
Now, with all that being said, I will say this. I understand the great freedom that we have. I understand that we live in the best country in the world and I don’t take that for granted at all. I realize my freedom to do what I want for a living, believe what I want to believe, say what I want to say and I love that. I love the ability to vote or not vote, I love the fact that I can turn on the news in my own home on a TV that I am able to afford. There are a million things that I love about the freedom of this country, but it’s hard for me to be political. History will be made today and regardless of the outcome we, as Christians, know the end of the story. We know who’s in control and we know who has our best interests in mind… American or not.
Welcome to Tuesday. You know what to do. Write something nice then come back here and fill out the box below. Ready? Go.

I agree. History will be made today. Happy Tuesday!
Nice post, Brody.
I just had a discussion with Ry last night about why people stand on the overpasses with banners yelling, “YES on this” or “VOTE FOR whomever.” I cannot believe they really think they are going to influence anybody’s vote by doing this. So, why are they wasting their energy? Is somebody really going to change their mind on an issue because a lawn sign told them to?
I guess it just makes people feel good to let everyone else know what they stand for. And I guess that is the beauty of America. (Until folks get stupid and start vandalizing the signage… but that’s another topic.)
Happy Tuesday!
Certainly, in God we trust.
something else positive?
i heart you.
Life is GOOD…
“…we know the end of the story.”
Yes! And I’m so thankful we do.
Well put, Brody!!
I voted, then ran to the nearest Starbucks to get my caffeine fix, FREE!!
It is so refreshing to know who is really in control.
Thanks be to God!
I’m with you. It sounds bad when I say I don’t care, but I really don’t. It’s not as if God is going to fall off His throne if one or the other of the candidates is elected. I’m glad I know who is in control of me and my future, regardless of who is in office. Thanks for the honestly, Brody!
Praise the Lord for our freedoms…]
I love you, Mom
Great post, Brody. Thanks for the reminder about who really holds our future in His hands. God is good all the time!
Hey Brody, Lbee here from the Honey Head Family.
Thanks for being so transparent. Too often we forget to cast our cares upon the Lord and try to heap them on politicians. God has always met my and my families needs just as He sees fit and I am forever greatful to him.
Again, thanks for being real! Hope to chat a bit in Naperville.
Lbee
