Things are better now, but there were gas problems for a bit. I almost couldn't get gas for my wife's car. At the station near my apt, they just have 87 gas which is cool by me, cause that's all I use. I think it all started with some stupid email, but I guess it's spread to other places as well... or maybe it's Tallahassee's fault.

Oh, yeah, I'm in the Southeast, Florida.

Gas prices have actually dropped here in SoCal. It was up to over $4 a gallon for the cheap stuff. Now it's down to $3.65.

Ah geez, that's no good. Sorry you guys have to deal with that. I'd tell you the situation in New York City, but truthfully, I have no idea what gas is like right now, since we don't have cars. But I think when we moved here and had to return the moving truck, we filled it up at $10/ gallon. Crazy, huh? That's in Manhattan. I'm sure most people who drive consistently in the city cross the bridge to Jersey to get gas.

Anyways...your post reminds me of when Seth and I evacuated Houston from Hurricane Rita. Every gas station along the way was out of gas...people sitting on their cars on the sides of the highway, hoods up, stranded. Gas stations had trash all over the ground. It was like the end of the world or something, so surreal. We found one gas station with gas and the guy right in front of us in line was filling up all these gas containers and putting them in his trunk. I've never felt such rage in my entire life. Mind you, everyone thought, at the time, that Hurricane Rita was gonna come through while we were on the road and wipe us all out or something. Ugh. The scene was straight out of the War of the Worlds movie, except we were all afraid of Rita, not...aliens...yeah.

That's bizarre. Gas here is a few cents more, but there's no shortage at all.

Wish I could email you some...
