A Prediction
It was on July 12th that I started sending pictures directly to the sidebar of this blog instantly from my phone. Did you notice? It might annoy some of you. Some of you might think it’s cool. Basically these are things that I am looking at, the exact moment I send them to the blog. Nothing new, I know. It’s nothing that hasn’t been done before and it’s certainly not re-inventing any wheels here…. maybe.
To my knowledge, on July 12th nobody in the Christian Music Industry was doing it. To my knowledge Twitter was (and might be) still the king of the “instant”, but this week I want to try something. This week SkörInc is getting all of the artists that we work with set up with something similar. The idea? Bringing something even more instant to the blog and getting more people involved and ultimately making it more fun. This means that these artists will take pictures with their phone and instantly send them to their blogs. Again, not re-inventing the wheel here, but I have a secret mission for you. Are you ready? Okay it’s not really that secret. I want you all to keep an eye out, in the next two or three weeks and see how many of these coincidentally start popping up and let me know.
Now before anyone blasts me with a comment that says “You’re stupid. David Crowder has been doing this for two weeks”, let me mention. Yes, I know David Crowder has been doing this on his “band hub” for around two weeks. And you know why? Because David Crowder is a smart fellah.
So there’s your mission. Let’s, together, see how many of these clever little ideas start gaining ground in The Industry over the next few weeks. You want to?
(WCW)

You know. I sorta started doing this with my blog a week or so ago.
Flickr makes it really easy to post to your blog from your phone. And embed the picture.
I applaud you for doing this and getting the artists to do it. Pictures are more engaging that simple posts and, in my opinion, will draw more people to their sites.
I try to make it a must to post blogs with pictures and links. I don’t always do it, but I try, and I honestly don’t think it is a blog worth looking at if it doesn’t have something more visually stimulating than words on a page. I like seeing blogs with photos on the side because it keeps me busy while I am reading. I need lots of different stimuli to keep me going…Thanks for keeping me goin’ while I’m readin’.
I wish I had the smarts to pull that off on my blog. I can’t even get it to display right in internet exploder, hence the number 2 reason to buy a mac. One day I will be that hip. It is one thing I have always admired about your blog
I like your phrase, “what I’m seeing”. I have it on my blog but it’s titled mobile photos. I’m gonna change it. Did you use a particular script or just flickr’s badge? I like your sizing mine is considerably smaller. Thanks for the input in advance!
I’ll be on the lookout.
I’d do more visual stuff (like you’re suggesting with the pics), in my sidebar, but I don’t think I can on my WordPress blog. Seems like everytime I wanna try something new they tell me they can’t support it yet. I will have to look into this again.
I want picts on my sidebar! hint hint, nudge nudge…
I saw you on the Crowder DVD!!! You looked great of course!
Congrats! I hope to reach these milestones someday on my own blog, you know, ten or twenty years from now. You, your mom and Kristin are my top comment-leavers. Thanks for the LOVE!
Beth
If I could figure out how to do this from my phone, I would. Things I see are so much more interesting than what I have to “say” about them. I’ve been averaging one comment per post lately, so I think my blog is tanking.
Maybe after going on a date with my husband to the auto show in Chicago tonight, I’ll actually have some cool pictures of cars to post.
