So here’s the deal. Allow me to do a little explaining. Twice now I have asked on this blog which Christian musicians you, blog readers, would want to see blogging. I have taken the list and figured out who the top nineteen artists are. Originally there were twenty, but I was completely unable to find any information on the twentieth artist online, which only goes to show how bad they need to be blogging. Now I am going to ask you to help me out.
Here’s the part that might make people start to hate me, but it also may just work. SkörInc has launched a new, very basic, website with a very brief explanation of what it is we do. Along with a new site, I have compiled the list of artists along with the general contact info for that artists management and record label. This actually might get me kicked out of Nashville, but below is a list of the top nineteen artists you requested along with their management company’s email address and their record labels email address. Obviously I am not going to give out non-public information so all of these email addresses were found somewhere on the Internet and very public. I have just put them all in one place.
Here’s what I am asking you to do. I know it will take some time today, but I’m asking you that if you requested any of those artists that you kindly and respectfully send them an email requesting that their artists start blogging with SkörInc. Tell them your experience with blogging. Tell them why you want them to blog. You can even tell them I sent you. Most of the “industry” doesn’t know about blogging because they haven’t heard about it. Now is our chance to tell them. Because blogging is such a “grassroots” movement, there is no reason that this community here can’t make a loud noise in the industry. So here it is. Please consider taking the time to do this. And if in a week or so I am moving to Canada you’ll know why.

So there it is. Make sure to be nice and make sure to tell them why you want their artists to blog. Also remember to send them to SkörInc.com to get started. Obviously a lot of these emails are “info@” something, but I promise you if they get enough emails at that address someone will read them. Let’s make some noise today. Ready? Go.

I won’t lie Brody. I’m shocked that a lot of people seem to know who Dave Barnes is. I’ve listened to him for about the last four plus years of my life. I just didn’t know how many other people really knew him. Great stuff!
Ha ha…way to stir up trouble Brody! I love it!
I’ll see if I can shoot a few emails out today or tomorrow.
Great idea Brody! It is a community that blogs create (definately my favorite part of keeping a blog) and we gotta work together! I’ll shoot out a few emails too.

i’m excited to see what you guys will get done over at skorinc. i really am. i think your vision and sensibility and implementation are great.
and i’m glad that evan wickham is on there. no reason he shouldn’t be a blogstar yet.
Godspeed mr harper.
That header scares me a little…kinda Auschwitz-esque, if you ask me.
But I digress…
Brilliant idea! I’ll spend some time tonight doing that. Hooray for Tenth Avenue North making your list!

ps - i like skorinc.com’s recent redesign.
K, I did it Brody. And, yes I was sure to notate that you told me I could and that I was not just being CREEPY. Btw, the pic above does not really support my, “I’m not creepy,” disclaimer. Yikes! I certainly hope that one of those faces is not supposed to represent me in this bloggy community - ha.
Keep us posted on skorinc. I’m excited about it.

I did it Brody. 4 of those artists are my choices and I have written to ask for blogs. Thanks for your post and the information.
I love that tree design on the new site. Gives it a very organic feel. Nice job to you and Randy.
Brody, I’ll e-mail my contact at INO about Derek Webb, Sara Groves, The Afters, Joy Whitlock, and Todd Agnew. They liked my review of Joy’s album a lot (it’s linked up on her homepage and on Ardent’s homepage, so they must have liked it) and so maybe they’ll listen a little to a modest proposal.
QUESTION: I know what your intent is, to get the artists interacting with their fan base. I know that Shaun Groves does this well, and the people at the Rabbit Room do this well, also (just as examples). Have the artists you’ve been setting up been using their blogs this way, or are they still trying to look at it as a repackaging of the old-style journal? Just curious.
(By the way, you list Celerity Entertainment for Todd Agnew and Joy Whitlock. According to their website, they closed up shop December 2007 and left contact info for the people they managed.)
Euphrony
Thanks for the info on Celerity Entertainment. I wanted to simply keep what I could find online and that was what I found. I didn’t want to give out “inside” contact info or anything like that. To answer your question, I am desperately working on getting artists to interact with their fan base. That is the point of the blogs that we are creating and that is what I am constantly pushing with the artists I am working with. What we are hoping to accomplish with SkörInc is a new level of fan interaction that isn’t being done in the industry and I think that’s what people are wanting.
Thanks again for the info.
Hey guys,
I found your post using Google alerts for Todd Agnew and Joy Whilock because I work for their label, Ardent Records, here in Memphis. Joy and Todd are constantly blogging via myspace, ilike, imeem, myccm. They will post a blog once or twice a week usually on myspace and we post it on their other social networking and music related sites to expand our reach. Definitely interested in Skorinc so hollar at me.

oh u evil little brody!! haha! no, just kidding. this is great!
doesnt david crowder already blog on a xanga?
ha. i think it is too late now, but i would have loved to have Michael Watson (above the golden state) blogging… not like i can’t talk to him at church though. lol
crowder (and band) actually do have a few blogs if you count xanga and myspace…but they have it all on a reader kind of thing on their new homepage.
This totally rocks. I really hope it works. Great job Brody.

these artist would hit another gear if they got their blog on.
Thanks for the info on Skorinc anyway… I had not heard of them at all and I have been blogging for quite some time now, although I would have to agree with LosWhit, and I love his comment, “dude. your screwed”, that’s a good one
