When the "Red" items came out a year or so ago, it was revealed that you'd do a lot better to buy a regular item at discount & give the difference to a relevant (and accountable) charity. I bought some cheap (but decent) coffee at Big Lots for about $3.50 for 20 oz. If I gave the difference to a group like Compassion, I could probably benefit some coffee farmers' children more. (We do give to Compassion, and even a child in Kenya, a coffee-growing country, but I haven't done it in such a direct manner like this.) I always wonder about Fair Trade.
