I’m a country guy who is in love with the city.

If it were only for 48 hours, I would go to New York(i know, not too original). In that amount of time span there would be plenty of stuff to do to keep you busy, while enjoying downtown, broadway, the enviroment, etc. Short enough of a time however to where you won’t get too angry with how rude people are or the weird smells that would creep into your nose.

The country is great, but my heart is def. for the city.

i would have to agree, it would be New York for me. I guess I have that set up as “the cities of cities” in my head. not too fond of cities in general though. Portland is cool, and I like their train/shuttle thing. and i might try going without wearing a suit…yea, that would be good.

    6 hrs in Seattle

    24 hrs in NYC

    6 hrs in L.A.

    6 hrs in Miami

    2.5 hrs in Portland

    3.5 hrs in D.C.

    = 48 hrs
    *travel time not included

I can’t ever answer questions like that with a straight, simple response, sorry.

    Either:
San Fran-never been, looks interesting, lots to photograph, and I like gloomy weather…I’d pick to go in fall

Nashville- why not? music, interesting people, “the south”, sweet tea..prob fall too..I like fall

Seattle- dad lives south of there, haven’t seen him in like 2 years now…and I like the area…prob fall again…

    mmhmm…who’s paying for the tickets?

Probably some place like Rhode Island, largely because I live in New Mexico and there is not much here other than dirt, rattlesnakes, and hot air balloons.

Since I have been to every state I think it would be more event specific than a certain place. There are so many places I like in the U.S., I would want to go for a specific baseball or football game or something like that.

I’d go visit my sister. Doesn’t matter to me where she lives. She’s lived in NYC, Phoenix and most recently is in Hawaii, where I happen to be visiting at this very moment in time. I’ve lost track of the people who’ve said something about how lucky I am to be able to visit Hawaii.

Meh. I’d visit her in po-dunk no-where and enjoy myself just as much.

    :-)

First, let me say that I am SHOCKED by my husband’s (Travis Thompson) answer!!!! Never would have guessed Boston!! That’s were I grew up.

    As for me…definitely NOT Boston!

I would go to Placida, Florida. We go to Little Gasparilla Island every year for vacation. It is truly heaven on earth.

    Ahhh, I can’t decide!

My immediate response is New York, because it’s my favorite place in the whole wide world. But I’ve been there before.

But I’d also say Atlanta, because it’s my lifelong dream (well, one of them) to see a Braves game, and I never have. I’ve been a fan my entire life and never seen them play live and in-person.

And maybe Portland. It’s one city in America I’ve never been to but hear such cool things about… I’m dying to go.

These wide, open-ended questions are too tricky.

New Orleans. I would go have beignets at Cafe Du Monde, Watch some awesome street performers, and listen to some of the greatest Jazz Music. I want to see the 9th ward too it’s probably gotten cleaned up some more, but to see the reality of what happened in that area would be eye opening.

Probably NYC as well so I could check out some broadway shows or something. 48 hours would be about all I could handle of the “big city” though.

If time didn’t factor into the answer, I would say Juneau Alaska via a cruise ship. Every picture I have ever seen from there was amazing. Definitely on my bucket list!

I would have to go with Oakland, CA.
ok, not really (only to see my Raiders play!).
Just got back from my first visit to NYC - 7 days of bliss! The Cure, Yankee game, 3 broadway shows, Little Italy, St. of Liberty, MOMA, Met, etc. Loved it all. Would go back in a heartbeat if I could swing it.
But maybe Boston or Philly(only 2 hrs from NYC!). I’m a history buff and would love to just walk around exlporing all there is to see.

I would want to go to Atlanta, GA or Somewhere in Main. Atlanta because I have friends who live in the area that I love, but have never met in person. I really want to see the aquarium, swim with the sharks and eat chick-fil-A. Southern hospitality is the best in the countryand I would liked to experience it a little more of it.

I want to go to Maine because everything I have read about it sounds amazing! .

Although I am enjoying Cali with its unpredictable weather and beaches + swells down on PCH, it would be great to visit Nashville for 24 hours, then Portland 24 hours, exclusive of travel time. ;-)
