Randy was digging through some pictures the other day and came across this little gem.  This is Randy and I with the band Sixpence None The Richer.  During that time they were one of my favorite bands, and even now their music blows me away.

After we graduated high school a group of us drove from Sacramento to Portland, OR for a Christian music festival a friend of mine was promoting.  I remember that being the first time I saw Sixpence live. It was also the first time I saw and met Third Day,  The Waiting and a bunch of other bands.

I’m not sure who all the people in this picture are, but I did notice the guy wearing the Dryve t-shirt which I think is awesome.

What was your favorite band when you graduated high school?

It was a close tie between Dave Matthews Band and Rage Against the Machine. Battle of Los Angeles is probably one of the greatest albums ever.

Graduated in 1997. I was all about No Doubt and Counting Crows.

I think I started liking Sixpence around 2000, and have since enjoyed several of their CDs. I have to say, though, that I’m pretty disappointed in Leigh Nash’s solo album.

Her voice is still great, but her song writing just doesn’t compare to Matt Slocum.

Class of 1991. I was big into vocal groups at the time - Acapella, Glad, Take Six, The King’s Singers. Still love all of them.

Looking at the other responses, I feel the odd man out. Ah, well, such is life.

2003- I was all about Five Iron Frenzy. I’m still a little upset that I had to miss their final show because I was out of the country on a missions trip.

Man, I am SO old compared to most of your readers (not to mention you!). My favorite band was the BeeGees. I also liked Journey, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, and many others. I worked in radio while I was in high school and college.

Alice in Chains and Counting Crows. Speaking of Alice in Chains, no offense but in that picture Brody, you kinda resemble Layne Staley from Alice or Scott Wylan from Stone Temple Pilots.

I had heard rumors of a Six Pence reunion back in January, but nothing since. Still love their music and what Leigh has done since.

I was also on that trip with you guys, but I barely knew you and I am pretty sure I just remember your blue car that I think had the twister game pinned to the inside ceiling of it. I was shocked the car made it there and back. Drew and I were just talking about that trip and how lame he didn’t go (he was in trouble). ‘97 and U2 was my fave.

Alan - no offense taken. I think that was the point back then. Also the rumors are true about the sixpence reunion. They played a show here (in Nashville last week). Check out noisetrade.com to get a few songs for free.

Kyle and Jamiey that was a cool trip. I don’t think I knew either one of you that well when we went, and yes, there was a twister game on the ceiling of my car.

in 96 I graduated and Im sure my favorite band was not really a band at all, but a gospel group…The Clark Sisters.

I happen to love Sixpence….especially Leigh Nash. Her voice is like an angel.

Hmmm, graduated 98… I’m not sure. I think I was probably a big fan of a few bands at the time. Supertones… Five Iron Frenzy’s Our Newest Album yet was probably in heavy rotation at the time.

Lots of Tooth and Nail band at the time I’m sure. Can’t think of anything else right now.

    2003….

Jack Johnson hardly ever left my cd player! I bought all his cds at once and it was all I listened to. I blame it on living near the beach, though he is still one of my favorites.

‘83 I thought 2nd Chapter of Acts and Petra were the best Christian bands ever. My favorite secular bands included Police, Chicago, Elton John.

Haha. I loved all those bands too. Opened for a few of them also.

Man in 97 I was a big fan of:
    -MXPX - Life in General,
    -The Blamed,
    -Starflyer 59,
-Waterdeep(i’m a local, watched them when it was just Don),
-Push Start Wagon(a great album that got way overlooked by everyone)
    -Value Pak
-Dakoda Motor Company(probably one of my favorites)
    -Supertones
    - and I hate to say it but DC Talk…yeah boy!
    -Blindside
Went to the New Earth Coffee House(RIP) practically every weekend. There was always something great happening there.
