Right after we moved to England, we were staying in a hotel waiting for housing. We didn't have a car yet so we were pretty limited to places we could walk to to eat. This can be interesting in a foreign country; especially with kids. Anyway, we were reading the menu which was written on a chalk board and came to the "dessert" section. My husband read the name of this particular item: "Spotted Dick." He leaned in close to me and said: "I don't care what they tell me this really is, I'm NOT eating ANYTHING called "Spotted Dick"!"
