Stats Suck Sunday – Guilty Pleasure
Welcome to Sunday where Stats Suck and there is little to no expectation of involvement in this post. Although, I think there could be a lot to talk about after this one.
This week’s installment of Stats Suck Sunday is your Musical Guilty Pleasure. We all have them. It’s the musical artist that you hate that you like. You never mention to anyone that you own the records, and when someone gets in your car and it’s on you tell them it’s your wife’s / husband’s / roommate’s / friend’s and quickly turn it off. Or maybe it’s so much an embarrassment that you don’t even own the record, but when you hear it on the radio you turn it up and sing along.
Just a few weeks ago Kristin and I heard this in the car and started talking about it so here goes. YouTube has been working like garbage the last few weeks so hopefully this actually plays for you. Enjoy.
So here goes folks. Let’s hear it. What’s your musical guilty pleasure?
Ready? Go.

Nelly Futado, Whoa Nelly

Two words: Milli Vanilli
I’m so glad you have a musical guilty pleasure too! My guilty pleasure is that i absolutely love the Hanson DVD! No kidding, if you haven’t seen it, go find it. It’s good.
Enya…That’s right I absolutely love Enya. I don’t really talk about it much for the simple reason that a 6’3″ 300 lb guy listening to Enya seems a little funny.
poison–bell biv devoe
I will put on “Straight Up” by Paula Abdul once in a blue moon… and the Backstreet Boys.
*hangs head in shame*
Actually as I read this I was thinking of two… Kelly Clarkson – Because of you (Colette is making fun of me as I listen to the video), and Hanson.
I think people make fun of Hanson because of mmm bop, and they should, but they are amazing song writers. I love them.
I did a quick look through my iTunes library to see what songs I would have that I could potentially get razzed for.
How about “Keep Holding On” by Avril Lavigne? Hey, at least it’s not Sk8er boi.
Oh, and I’m with Shawn, I like Enya too. Kick me off the cool wagon
Kenny Rogers
Michael W. Smith’s “Change Your World”
Yup still have it and still pull it out every once in a while.
mine is definitely not this…
Too chicken to say huh Amos?
That’s right. I’ll call you out.. ha ha
Neil Diamond.
I happen to love that. saw her do that with reba once, it was incredible. I heard she wrote that song when she was a young teen. Seems a little sad to me.
My guilty pleasure….50′s and 60′s oldies.
I know every word.
Love you…Mom
Hey Bro and Ran..How ’bout “Rodeo”????
70′s Disco.
makes me wanna roller skate.
funny b/c i was actually thinking of kelly clarkson as i was reading your post. but so that i don’t copy cat you i’d have to say Bon Jovi. there is nothing like some good ol’ livin’ on a prayer.
Hmmm, I tried to think about this one…usually if I do fancy an artist’s lyrics/melody (not the artist themselves)after giving them a chance, I move tend to on…but I will say Sarah Mac’s…she has cool songs but there is one that gets on my nerve unfortunately, which to my opinion is rarely accomplished—gladly, I am able to tune off whenever she gets to that one part of the song as possible. All righty, c’est tout I think.
I used to be obsessed with Lionel Richie. I still like his music…
My 7 year old boy has me hooked on the Jonas Brothers. Camp Rock really rocks. Brody, please don’t tell anyone.
Wow! I’m not nearly as embarrassed about mine anymore.
Which would probably be the Monkeys.
Berlin. 80′s in general. All of the tones are anemic and phony but I don’t care
I’m not far behind Pete Wilson.
Mine is Miley Cyrus (thanks to my 8 year old)
Remember that random, pointless song, “Umbrella” by Rhianna? Its not enough that her voice is annoying….but the song is about an UMBRELLA!!!!!
AND I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
Kelly Clarkson and Natasha Bedingfield, especially “Since U Been Gone” and “Unwritten”.
Even though I complain every time my hubby puts in in the cd player for a road trip, I do like me some Def Lepard! Shhh, don’t tell him.
