Day One

Randy flew in last night about nine-thirty and now he officially lives here.  It’s a little weird but it’s cool that we can officially get going on the company.  We left the airport and stopped in at McCreary’s for a cool adult beverage.  After a brief tour around the town we headed back to our house.

Randy’s staying with us for a while until he figures out what he wants to do, but for the time being it will be cool to be able to work in the same room.  We’ve got some big plans for the Fee guys, so look for that soon.  Also it will be nice to be able to not have to deal with time zone differences, waiting for emails, and communicating across the country.  I’m hoping we can be a lot more productive in the same town and same house for a while.

From what Randy remembers this is the furthest East he has been, except for one time when he was little.  What’s the furthest you have been from your house.  For Vacation, work, anything.  Where’s the furthest place you have traveled?

I went to Jamaica last year.  That seemed like it was pretty far.

“Day One”

  1. So Randy got there safe and sound. Good. Have your guys and “the biz” in my prayers. BTW – ever come up with an “official” name for “it?”

Jamaica – wow. Furthest place I’ve been isn’t too far. Only to Texas (some family there). I’d love to travel more someday…((sigh)). :)

Speaking of Fee – a little birdie told me they’re gonna be hangin’ with Phil some this fall, which is awesome. Can’t wait. That should be great.

Blessings and prayers – Melody M.

  2. Melody. That little birdie told me the same thing… as long as all the puzzle pieces fit.

Yeah we have a name, but I will talk about that later.

  3. I lived in Australia for a year. That’s REALLY far. Trust me.

  4. hmmm…tricky question, for me at least.
if you’re talking about the furthest place i’ve been from where i was originally from then it’s Tulsa, OK USA. it’s the furthest West i’ve been being born and raise in the Philippines.
now if it’s from where i currently live then it’s Khabarovsk Russia…it borders China.
sorry, this became a long comment.

  5. I think the furthest I’ve been away from home is San Luis Potosi, Mexico. I went there on a mission trip in high school. It was life changing. I’ve also been to Seattle, not sure which is further from little Tulsa, OK!

  6. The furthest I’ve gone is Russia.

  7. The furthest I have been from home? Well, I spent about five years living in hell… I *think* that is further away than Australia.

Before that though, Austria would be the edge of my travels east, and Cali to the west (glad you thought of that Iman!)

  8. Rowan

From my home in California the furthest east in the U.S: Washington, D.C., Annapolis, MD (naval academy graduation – not mine!). But I leave Tuesday for New York City (vacation). I think it is a smidge more east.
Furthest east ever: Athens, Greece 2004 Olympic Games. No, I was only a spectator, but it was very cool!

  9. well, i’ve been to peru 2 times and bora bora once. they were both about 8 hours on a plane followed by 1 hour on another plane…so…one of those.

  10. I’m glad Randy made it there in one piece :) I’m sure Kristin will have her hands full now! I’m pretty sure the furthest i’ve ever been is Poland.

  11. Not sure how i found your site. I think we have mutual friends somewhere. What’s the new company all about? Or is that still on the DL?

Furthest i’ve traveled? Well, i live in China now. That’s far from home. 17 hours by plane to get home, but it’s really a whole different world over here.

  12. Sounds like a good, new beginning for you guys!

Florida is the furthest east I have been in my life, although I traveled there from where I used to live (Michigan) and it was more southbound than east for us. =) I have made many-a-trip due east to Nashville from good old Oklahoma, as well. Someday I’ll go all the way to the east coast and have a little adventure.

  13. And I just realized that “east” was not part of your question. But my answer remains pretty much the same. ha ha

  14. dew

The furthest for me would be Lagos, Nigeria for work. That was a crazy trip for a 3 hour meeting!

  15. This time last year I was in Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa. It wasn’t a direct flight that time, but the first time I flew to SA it was a direct 22 hour flight. And my seat was right next to the bathroom.
    Talk about feeling grimey…

  16. The farthest I’ve been is Europe…we did a tour of Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, France, England.

My life goal is to hit every continent! We’ll see how that goes haha.

Jon Foreman’s Summer EP is out! I’m excited!
Good luck with the business :)

  17. Furthest from home (San Antonio)? Bangalore, India. That was a trip…

  18. Studied Abroad (she was a nice gal – cue cymbal crash) back in 98 in Europe. Specifically London, Manchester, Cardiff, and Paris. That was pretty far from Florida. Which by reading all these comments puts me pretty far away from all of “ya’ll”

  19. Ireland as far as out of the country. In the States it would be California.

  20. Barb

Wow..everyone has been everywhere. The farthest I have gone from CA is Jacksonville FL. then up the east coast.

You guys make me feel very old and grounded.

    Love you…Mom

Not sure which is furthest I’ve been from home (wherever that is). I was raised in the Florida Keys. I’ve lived in Arizona, Texas, California, Illinois, Hawaii, England and North Dakota. I’ve traveled to Jamaica, Japan, Wake Island (more like Wake runway because that’s how big it is!), Saudi Arabia, Iceland, Spain, Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, Diego Garcia and 40 of the 50 States. The military will get you to places you never thought you’d get to see. HOME is always my favorite, wherever that may be.

  22. Krasnoyarsk in Southern Siberia… for 3 months… I’m not kidding :-)

  23. i went to the DR and orlando, otherwise chicago (where i am right now) is the furthest away from good ol oregon i’ve been.

glad it worked out for randy to get there.

  24. From California… Harpswell, Maine.
