Success.

Hey everyone. Thanks so much for checking out Phil’s show tonight if you did.  If you didn’t see it, you missed something special.  I have lots to talk about, but my brain is mush right now.  I have to be up in five hours to catch a flight home.  I met some great people tonight and honestly the night couldn’t have gone better.

More to come when I can spell things right.

See You Tomorrow

Alright. I’m here at Randy’s house in (amazing) Portland, Oregon.  The camera and I made it safely through security, a Denver layover, and a farting old women* and we are getting ready for tomorrow.

I’m pretty excited about all these things coming together and I wanted to remind everyone to make sure they are over at Phil’s blog tomorrow night at 7:30 PM Pacific Time.  It’s going to be a great night and hopefully I don’t screw anything up.

*There was an old lady that told me that she didn’t want a middle seat and that she wanted to sit in my aisle seat.  She was in her late 70′s so I had to let her take my seat and I think she was farting the whole flight.  I wanted to throw up numerous times between Denver and Portland.  Seriously, who farts on a plane?

See you tomorrow.

Travel Day

So tomorrow I will be running around a bunch and I’m not sure I will have much time to blog. For those of you that don’t know, I am heading to Portland to meet up with Phil to record and video his live album show. Well, I won’t be the one recording it, but I will be there during the recording of it… you get the idea.

I’m excited to be in Portland again. There is something magically artistic about that place and normally when I am there something cool happens. It’s also cool that it’s where Randy is, so we will be able to get some work done and actually be in the same room to do the work for once.

A couple random things from today. I officially made the switch from Safari to Firefox, and am not sure that I really like it yet. Everything seems so bubbly and annoying to me. And I swear it’s slower, but I could be making that up. What are you using?

Also Kristin and I are two episodes away from finishing the second season of LOST. Ana Lucia is dead and the show is now better because of it. Although it’s a bit creepy that Michael is all whacked out now. I think Season One kept my attention a little better but it’s still a great show.

I rode the scooter to my friend Michael’s house today. We did a rad video for his blog (that he never updates) but I think it’s not working or something. Everyone head to Michael’s blog and harass him about blogging and say hello for me.

So that’s it from this place. I will be around tomorrow but mostly on Twitter so check me out there. I am a little curious about how many people that read this blog are going to be at the show on Friday. I know a couple people have commented already about being there, so let’s hear it. Who’s watching online, and who’s going to be there?

**Quick update. I am currently editing this in Safari because Firefox was being lame. One more like that and we are in a fight.**

My Cross Gender Hands

So, the other day Kristin and I were somewhere that I should have been paying attention, and all of my focus was being directed to my cross-gender hands.  Here’s the problem.  It’s not like I have small hands in a cool musician superhero type of way.  I just have completely disproportionate hands.  Like part man hand, part woman hand.  All creepy weird hand.

It was bugging me the whole night and later that evening Kristin and I were talking about it.  I needed to get to the bottom of why my hands were so weird.  Here’s what we came up with.  My palms are the exact same size as my fingers.  Here’s the problem with that.  My fingers are the same size as Kristin’s!  My five-foot three – hundred and ten pound – tiny person wife!  Yeah, my fingers are the same size.  But here’s the kicker.  My palms?  They are twice the size of hers.  It doesn’t make any sense to me.  I do not have the hands of a twenty nine year old man.  An eleven year old?  Maybe that’s more like it.

Now there are plenty of things that I would change about my appearance if I have the ability, but my cross-gender hands would be near the top of that list.  What’s on your list?

My Swollen Brain

Yesterday I went to the Lifework2.0 thing that Randy and Spence put on and I think my brain is a little swollen.  We went through so much stuff that I am still checking my notes to see things that I have already forgotten about.  There were a bunch of other folks there, and since I’m miserable with names it’s going to take me a little research to remember all the folks I met.  Vicky was there, John Voelz was there, Beyond Jems was there, and a bunch of others.  We talked about Twitter and all sorts of other Google search stuff that I am still sorting through.

I had a great time getting to know some of the people that I read everyday.  Make sure to check those links out if you haven’t and say hi.

Today I’ve got to get ready to head to Portland.  Tomorrow will be a busy day.

“Positive Post Tuesday”

So, here it is Tuesday again. Time for another “Positive Post Tuesday”. Time to say something nice or not say anything at all.  This week is a little different because I wanted to build up you guys.  The readers of this here blog.  The people that, for what ever reason, keep coming back here to hear what I have to say everyday.  The folks that show an genuine interest in our family.  Who pray for us even though they may not know us, the friends that I have gotten to know better because of this blog, and also the new friends I have made.

Almost two years ago now, I started this blog with no real intention of actually keeping it going.  I had no idea what to talk about and even if I came up with something to talk about, I wasn’t sure anyone was listening.  Now almost two years later, I have met some really cool people, created a “profession” and been more encouraged than I could have expected from a blog.  There is a pretty solid group of people here that come back and comment, and are involved in this little community online.   I call it a community because I know that there are people involved in this blog that, if I were in trouble, would jump at the chance to help out, as I would with them.  For that to happen with people that I may never know just blows me away.

It’s been amazing to see the support and interest that you guys have shown in what is going on here. There is no way that I would be getting to do what I am doing for a living without this little community here, and I appreciate that.  One of these days we need to have a big fat “…in case you were wondering” party, and you are all invited.

You guys know what to do.  I know there are more people out there that have nice things to say.  Let’s make today a very Positive Tuesday.  Who can you build up today?  Who needs it most?  We do plenty of tearing down throughout the week.  Let’s see how many we can get on this list today.

It’s The Cinco of Mayo

Happy Cinco De Mayo.  Today marks the day of Kristin and I living in this house for two years.

Yippee for houses… and May… and 5′s too. Have a Corona for me today.

Music You’ve Never Heard (Again)

So, a while back we did a thing here at “…in case you were wondering.” and it seemed to work pretty well. We all participated in a thing called “Music You’ve Never Heard“.  You know what was awesome about it?  We all got to check out some music we have never heard, and there are still people submitting music that we have never heard.

As soon as I figure out how this will be something way more awesome than comments on my blog, but for now I would like to continue spreading the love  and add to the list.  I have gone through and copied all the links that were submitted and I want to go through those again.  There are a lot of new people here and I want them to be able to check out some of this music and also submit their own.  So here goes.  Round Two of “Music You’ve Never Heard”.  Whatcha’ got?

So that’s the list so far folks.  Pretty intense huh?  So what do we do with this?  Here’s what I am thinking.  I don’t like the idea of a “voting system” but I would like to see some of the “most recommended” music rise to the top and get more recognition.  I would like to see something like this really turn into something amazing and become a huge resource for music we have never heard.

I have two questions for you today. One:  From this list what sticks out to you the most?  And Two:  In the spirit of adding to this list, what are you listening to that people have never heard?

Tonight

Tonight Kristin ”&” I are headed to downtown Nashville to watch Derek “&” Sandra play some music.  See how clever that was there?  I used the “&” symbol like they did for their album.  They were clever first, but it’s fun that I got to join in the cleverness this morning.

Anyway.  So, Sandra ”&” Derek are playing tonight for the first time together promoting this record.**  What I am excited about is going to a show to watch, going there with my amazing wife, “&” relaxing for a couple hours.  Not to mention, I am excited to hear Derek’s new stuff, “&” excited for Kristin to see Sandra.

What’s your plans for tonight?

**Don’t quote me on that.  I may have made it up.
