If you could choose five artists that you would want to be blogging, who would they be?  And when I say blogging, I mean regularly, actively, participating in a blogging community.  Who would you want to hear from the most?  More specifically, who do you think I should talk to next about blogging?

Ready?  Go.

  11. andira May, 16 2008 12:24 pm

    2. Nichole Nordeman
    3. Derek Webb
    4. PFR (Joel!)
    5. Rebecca St. James

  12. ginger May, 16 2008 12:30 pm

Mmmmmmm. Let me think. Well for one, I’d definately have to say Bono like everyone else, but the possibility of that happening is very low. Next would probably have to be the guys from coldplay. Love Colplay. Oh Oh, Darlene Zchech and Martin Smith and Evan Wickham and Robbie Seay and Brenton Brown and Leeland and Jeremy Riddle and Sigur Ros and Casting Crowns and David Crowder and John Mayer and Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney and Snow Patrol and Definately Sufjan Stevens and Telecast and the Afters and the Fray and Todd Agnew and Esterlyn and I think that’s it. Wow I hadn’t realized how much people I named off. If you could get about 90% percent of those people to blog Brody, you would be the King. I know you can do it, just go for it.

  16. Raquel TWG May, 16 2008 1:08 pm

    Easy.

    1. This Holiday Life [already have a blog, but don't really update very often. Their last post was 4 months ago.
    2. Edison Glass.
    3. House of Heroes.
    4. Jon Foreman, definitely.
    5. Oh and get Evan [Wickham] blogging. He has Twitter, but I’d like to see him write and not be limited to 140 characters.

  17. Tracie May, 16 2008 1:28 pm

    mat kearney
    derek webb
    paul meany
    sandra mccracken
    david crowder

  18. Rachel May, 16 2008 1:30 pm

I’ll echo some of the same here:

    1. Jon Foreman (he writes on his myspace blog, but not much)
    2. Crowder (get him off xanga) and any members of his band.
    3. Shane and Shane. Seriously, have you seen the killer interface they have on the “journal” section of their site? Sadly enough, it’s not been update for 2 years.
    4. Derek Webb.
    5. Jars of Clay. They have a blog, but it’s updated maybe every few weeks.
    6. BONO. Yes. Go for it, Brody! ha ha

  19. Alymc May, 16 2008 1:41 pm

If any of these don’t already…

    1)The guys from Delirious
    2)Downhere
    3)Kristian Stanfill
    4)Shawn McDonald
    5)Christy Nockles

  20. Dale Best May, 16 2008 2:02 pm

    5. Derek Webb
    4. Beth Dillon
    3. Sara Groves
    2. Nathan & Christy Nockels
    1. Leeland

  21. Hannah May, 16 2008 2:45 pm

    I’ll be realistic:

    1. The Afters
    2. Switchfoot/Jon Foreman
    3. The Myriad the band like the whole MercyMe blog
    4. Leeland!
    5. Mark Stuart from Audio A

  22. Tyler May, 16 2008 3:17 pm

why is no one saying chris tomlin. he is it in christian music right now, go get him brody.

    other than him.

    foreman or switchfoot
    shawn mcdonald
dcb, outside of his xanga junk.

  23. Jeff M. Miller May, 16 2008 3:31 pm

    1. Hillsong United (group blog)
    2. Crowder (more frequently)
    3. Shawn McDonald
    4. Shane & Shane
    5. Bob Hartman (seriously, think of the stories he could tell)

  24. Melody Milbrandt May, 16 2008 4:07 pm

EVAN WICKHAM (and I know Gene Pensiero will back me up on that, cause he’s actually posted about it before on his bloggy).

Come on - it’s so Evan. He’s an awesome guy with a wonderful ministry and family. He has blessed music and is an excellent writer. He already does tweeter (and likes it). Plus, you’ve already hung out with him so it wouldn’t be awkward at all. Besides you could enlist Phil to help. If you and Randy set it all up so it’s ready to go for him, he could totally rock it.

Again - Evan Wickham needs to blog, seriously. :) You know deep down inside that Evan needs to blog, am I right?! lol

There, I’ve said my piece…I’m shuttin’ it now.

    Have a blessed weekend, Melody

  25. Sammi May, 16 2008 4:18 pm

So this was tough and i’m echoing a lot of what some people have said.

    1. Crowder - again - get him off Xanga
    2. Shawn McDonald (his wife was really into blogging then disappeared & he has a blog but doesn’t update very often)
    3. Downhere (i think we talked about that; besides 2 of their members already blog so it shouldn’t be too hard to get a group blog)
    4. Hillsong United (i’m glad Jeff M. said that cause I thought I was crazy thinking that:) )
    5. Newsboys (i know, it’s a pipe dream!!) but you asked!

  26. Alymc May, 16 2008 5:25 pm

I echo the Chris Tomlin suggestion.
He had one but hasn’t updated in like a year.

  27. kate.d May, 16 2008 6:13 pm

    brook fraser
    evan wickham
    jimmy abegg
    christy nockels
    angelina jolie - don’t judge me (:

  28. Lisa May, 16 2008 6:46 pm

    Brooke Fraiser

  29. AnnieD May, 16 2008 7:10 pm

    1. Jon Foreman
    2. Dave Barnes (How has only one person mentioned this? He is HILARIOUS. He has the heart of a blogger.) :)
    3. Sara Groves (Whew… that would be genius.)
    4. Evan Wickham
    5. I echo all comments on getting Crowder off of Xanga.

  30. nolan May, 16 2008 8:59 pm

marc byrd (hammock… on a more frequent basis)

    martin smith

    ryan adams

    jason morant

bob dylan (why the hell not?)

    pt anderson (genius)

    jd salinger (would never happen)

  31. Brody May, 16 2008 10:27 pm

I’m having a really hard time adding these up…. so far it looks like Crowder is in the lead with Jon Foreman, and Derek Webb right behind. Is that right?

  32. Zach May, 16 2008 10:47 pm

    mewithoutYou.

  33. Zach May, 16 2008 10:54 pm

Hey Brody, what do you think of what Sanctus Real did for blogging? Each member setting up personal blogs like that? Just wondered.

I’m not sure if they started slacking or not, though. I thought it was a pretty unique way to go.

  34. travis spencer May, 16 2008 11:05 pm

    don miller
    bono
    shane claiborne
    rob bell
    tony compolo

Ok so most of these guys are not artists

  35. todd May, 17 2008 6:45 am

    Could only think of 3:

    1. The Edge.(Reading “U2BYU2″ convinced me that not only is he an amazing musician…he’s also hilarious and really sharp. Plus, do we really need to give Bono ANOTHER platform with which to assault us?)

    2. Grohl

    3. Paul Baloche

  36. Raquel TWG May, 17 2008 8:44 am

  39. Luke Mundy May, 19 2008 8:21 am

There’s a good list here already, I’d just like to add Leeland Mooring. I feel like he’d have great posts!

  40. KT.ann May, 19 2008 11:04 am

    1. Jon Foreman
    2. Bradley Hathaway
    3. Ben Olin
    4. Dan (from Weaver At The Loom)
    5. Matt, Chris, Mark, Pete and Dan (from Sanctus Real. See, they do have blogspots, but they don’t really post that much..)

  41. portorikan May, 19 2008 2:49 pm

    Paul Meany/Mute Math -
Their bass player blogs on blogger, which is cool. He’s kinda sporadic though. He does bass lessons and notes about tours when they tour. It’s roymitchellcardenas.blogspot.com
