Slumber Party
Kristin and I love having people at our house. There is just something fun about having friends come over, kick off their shoes and relax as if they live here too. Several times early in our marriage we would have people staying with us, or our friends would come by and stay late into the night. One year we celebrated Oktoberfest at our house and it quickly became a tradition to have Novemberfest, Decemberfest, and so-on. We still love it, and if folks can handle being around three, high energy, little boys they are welcome.
So last night we had sort of a blogging sleepover. Tracy and Daley hung out all day yesterday and stayed the night last night. The funny thing about it is that up until this weekend most of us had never met. I had met Tracy before, but Kristin hadn’t and we just met Daley the other day. Now here we are eating snacks, watching scary movies and having a pillow fight. Okay, maybe not the pillow fight, but you get the idea.
Once again it blows my mind how blogging can create something that bypasses all awkwardness and shallowness to where you feel like you know a person even if it’s the first time meeting. I have been lucky enough to meet several folks that read this blog, and also author blogs that I read. It’s a country-wide community, and I love to see it continue to introduce me to interesting people. Anyone else met a bunch of people from their blog?
So if you are ever in the Nashville area make sure to come hang out a little. Now I gotta go put Daley’s hand in a bowl of warm water.

Never met any of our blog friends so far, but maybe someday. Also, no warm water… it’s your couch!
KFJ and I have a bunch of blog friends. I think it’s amazing.
And if you ever need a place to stay in central FL, look us up!
I haven’t met any bloggers yet, but I’ve already made plans to switch places and go concert going with one! haha! I only wish I had a car so I could make those plans a reality ^_^
Brody and Kristin – This sounds so fun.
Other than briefly meeting Brody (with Phil at the DCB concert in Manhattan, KS) I haven’t gotten the opportunity to really hang out with any other “blog friends.” I couldn’t agree more with you about “bypassing that slightly awkward or shallow phase” thing. I love how God can use anything He wants, including blogs, to foster fellowship, accountability, prayer support, and blessings. He is so cool like that!
God Bless – Melody
How’d the warm water turn out? I’m curious.

Don’t lie… you had the pillow fight.
All the bloggers in our little area/church/whatever meet for dinner once a month or so. We call it “Blog 2 Face”. We’re on B2F4, and all have been so fun and mildly dorky.
And when I move to Nashville in July, I totally plan meeting up with you and Kristin. Ok?
I shall be in Nashville for GMA later this week. Would love to hang out!
Dale
[...] I have the most generous friends! I was in Nashville this weekend and had the best time hanging with my friends Brody and Kristin. Then, we added Daley to the mix. It is such a weird thing to “know” people through a blog and then get to meet them and hang out. [...]
I’ve had the opportunity to have morning tea with Randy and his wife Chris (www.randyelrod.com) when they visited Sydney a while ago, which lead to me meeting Third Day
i almost met another blog friend, but we were unable to coordinate our schedules. Next time then!
