From when I was about in 8th grade I wanted to play music but didn’t know to what extent. If only I had been practicing since I was in 8th grade.

Before we had kids I told Kristin that when our kids were old enough to know what I did for a living I wanted it to be in the music industry. Turns out…

Mmm. I remember drawing a picture of a nurse helping someone in 1st grade for my “what I want to be when I grow up” activity.

Science was my worst subject. I throw up at the site of blood.

That dream wasn’t long lived.

When I was in first grade I wanted to be a paleontologist. I thought dinosaur bones were really cool. But then I got older, and me + science (which requires math) = fail.

Then I decided I wanted to be an artist, and I kind of, sort of, am. (I do graphic design.) I would like to be a singer/songwriter, or an art history professor as well…maybe those can be my second and third careers.

I still think dinosaur bones are really cool.

I wanted to be a mom, a teacher and a nurse. The mom thing worked out good and being a mom, I’m kind of a nurse and a teacher too. Nobody wants to grow up and be a bookkeeper when they are a little kid. I wonder when the switch happened for me?

I have wanted to be a dentist since sixth grade. I know it’s weird, but I love it, so I guess it worked out for me!

A scientist or astronaut, an NBA player, a 3D graphics artist for movies or videogames, a professional musician…

sadly, I’m none of those things right now, and I think I’m grown up.

I always wanted to be a mom. And as an animal lover, I thought I wanted to be a vet. In high school, my animal love was redirected to wildlife, and I decided I didn’t want to work in a clinic, neutering people’s pets all day. I work for Cal Fish and Game, now, as an Environmental Scientist. I love my job. And I really love being a MOM, too!
