Late To The Party…On Purpose

Well, Kristin and I have been talking about it for a while, but we finally started watching Lost last night.

Neither one of us had seen even a minute of the show previous to last night. It’s not like we had something against it, it’s just that, at first, we couldn’t commit to being in the same place in front of our TV every time the show was on. We don’t have anything to record it, so if we missed one we would be stuck. Then it got to the point where we were too behind to start watching.

I have continued to hear how amazing this show is, and how it’s like a movie and not like regular TV, and how it keeps getting better and all that, but still didn’t have time to give it a chance. Now with ABC running full screen, high definition, full episodes for free, we decided to give it a shot. We started at the beginning and watched the two pilot episodes last night. I think it just might be as good as everyone has been saying. Right up front though, I am a little annoyed that Jack seems to know everything about everything, but I’m sure that something weird will happen with him.

So anyway, we are a little behind all of you, but I’m cool with that. I think it’s awesome that we are so far behind and we have so many episode to watch to be current. No waiting for the next one.

I assume most of you watch Lost, but is there anyone that doesn’t watch it? More interesting to me, is there anyone that doesn’t like it?

I’ve never watched it, nor have I really had an interest to watch it. Not sure why. The Office is about the only network TV show I watch.

I think the season finale of Season 3 might just be the two best hours of television ever.

As you get deeper into the seasons, begin to check out some of the websites dedicated to LOST. The thing about LOST is every episode paints a little more on a huge mural of the overall story. It’s soooooooooooo interconnected and convoluted.

I don’t watch Lost. I’ve watched it before, but I think the plot got too complicated and messy for me, so I dropped out. Conveniently for me there’s a web show on at the same time as Lost, which is at least 10 times more entertaining than it! Go rhett and link!
They even made a Lost-related commercial that you should check out. http://youtube.com/watch?v=NR9OtbZ9R8Y

    Enjoy!

i too have heard good things, but have never watched even part of one episode and have no desire to get sucked into another show that leaves you hanging on the edge of your seat only to create more questions with the following episode and then provide no answers. have fun with it, though!

ps - i agree w/ alan about the office as it is the only television show that truly deserves to be watched on a regular basis.

I don’t watch Lost. I saw some bits and pieces early on, and for whatever reason, it failed to grab me. I, too, have heard good things but feel I’m too far behind to start over and give it another shot. Shows I DO watch: House, Breaking Bad, and the Riches.

Here’s a hint for watching it - DON’T TRY TO FIGURE IT OUT!!! I can’t tell you how many hours of my life I’ve wasted trying to figure out that show.

Every week, I say I’ll never watch it again.

Every week, I watch it again.

Best show on TV (although, the Office is close) . . .

I’ve never watched even a minute of it.

For awhile, I was just too far behind to even start. Now with DVDs and everything on-line, that’s not really an excuse. I know that once I start watching it I’ll get sucked in, and there are just other things I’d rather be doing, really.

I watch the Office because it’s the best show EVER. And I’ll watch project runway when that’s on, the food network, and baseball. and that’s the extent of my tv!

Just as with the country song by Kenny Chesney <>, I will similarly share, <> :-)

Meaning, I do not have a satellite, therefore I am obliged not to have to sit in front of the tube at all–I do not even foresee that at the moment. I have heard great things about the show, but carpe diem…

hmmm, so it my comment is not complete…i will rewrite: Kenny’s song is No shoes, no shirt, no problem; similarly I am sharing no direct tv, no bills, no problem! :-) hope this works this time.

Haven’t watched it, yet. We’re like you, just don’t have the time to commit to watching it, but would gladly watch it if someone we know has the DVDs.

(FYI, I’m too cheap to have cable or those new-fangled DVR thingamabobs or I’d like have seen it already.)

    Better late than never.
In fact I never saw the first season. So, not sure if I’m a TRUE Lost fan!

I”m close to being done with the third season. I have really just dedicated a ton of time recently to watching this and I have to admit I’m completely smitten with it.

But I like the sort of television show that demands something from the viewer. (like this one) Other favorites are Buffy, 24, and Veronica Mars.

    Brody,
Well, you have done it. You opened up Pandoras box. There is no turning back my friend. Don’t ask anyone any questions about anything! I’m serious. This show is insane, and as KFJ said, welcome. This is Twin Peaks on Mushrooms. Enjoy!

Like you, I had never seen it. Until a month ago. I started watching it and got completely and totally sucked in.

I also managed to get completely caught up in about 2 and a half weeks. :)

    Don’t get that sucked in.

I have watched parts of episodes, but have never gotten too into it. Maybe it’s because I am sucked in to way too many other shows!!!

Wow man, you asked for it and they told you…

I’ll admit, its good, but im not sure if its all that. you know all the bells and whistles. Its definitely one of those shows that will piss you off and make you wonder is if you should watch the next episode.

You probably will watch the next episode until life gets busy again.

Unfortunately me and my husband are hooked. But, to our credit, since we don’t even have cable it’s the only show that we watch and b/c it’s always online we don’t set our lives around it. My husband loves and hates it at the same time. It definitely can make your head spin but it’s just a show. So watch it, enjoy it, and forget it.
