Kristin and I aren’t ones to turn movies off. We will opt out of finishing a movie if it’s content is unbearably filthy, but then again we generally wouldn’t choose to watch something of that nature in the first place. But out of sheer boredom, typically not. There will be the occasional “fall asleep in the middle of a movie”, but that is more me than Kristin.
In fact, there is only one time in our marriage that I can think of where we literally looked at each other in the middle of a movie and said, “Why are we still watching this?”. It was several years ago, and I don’t even think we had kids. We rented this Ben Affleck and Gwyneth Paltrow number called “Bounce”, thinking it might be a cool little “stay home and have a date night” movie. You know, a little romantic comedy. We’ll laugh, we’ll cry, we’ll fall in love all over again. Or…… we will be bored out of our minds and scratching our heads knowing we spent a whole three dollars on this garbage.
Listen, I’m sorry if you liked the movie “Bounce”. I’m sorry if you like Ben Affleck. I’m sorry if you like Gwyneth Paltrow, or kids named Apple, or even Coldplay, but this movie was horrid. Quite possibly the worst movie I have ever seen. Scratch that…. the worst movie I have ever started and turned off before the “truth came out and she got mad at him for lying to her and causing her to fall in love with him and then he says he’s sorry and she forgives him and they live happily ever after….”
What’s the worst movie you have ever seen?
