“Be Peaced”

bepeaced.jpgYou know those phrases that you hear people say, and they say it or type it often enough that it sort of becomes their “phrase”? Come on, you know the ones. You may not have thought much about those phrases, but they have. They have thought through ending something they have written with it, or ending a conversation with it. They have thought through it because it’s kind of a cool thing.

For the last few months I have thought about it. I know it’s a little weird, and maybe even stupid, but guess what? This is my blog, so I get to decide stuff. I have thought about a “phrase” that I want to be associated with eventually, and decided that it will be “be peaced”. Sure “peaced” isn’t a word, but I love the idea.

“Be Peaced”, as in “I am encouraging you to have peace in whatever you do. Not just ‘don’t fight’, but have peace in your life. ‘Be peaced’ by something greater than you. I hope you find that you find peace from stress, anger, insecurity, fear, hopelessness, and sadness. ‘Be peaced’ from anything that is causing you to not be peaced.” It’s not like I can really make that happen in your life, but I like the idea of it. So that’s my phrase. Sound good?

What’s a phrase that you have heard numerous times that you would love to align yourself with? What phrase would you want to communicate to people consistently enough that it becomes “your phrase”?

““Be Peaced””

  1. Brody,
i fell in love with the word Shalom, which is a higher kind of peace. A complete peace that Christ talks about. wholeness. A peace that revolves around restoration of broken things. i love Shalom.

  2. It’s like the Brody version of the Threefold Blessing (Num. 6:24-26), but with only one fold.

  3. mine is just peace. plain and simple reminder. but i like be peaced.

  4. mine is just peace as well. Holla is a popular one too.

I know I had some friends that would end stuff with One. That one was alright although I never used it.

  5. dew

    I like “coolio!”

  6. That’s a good one, it makes sense as well. I believe I’d like to be peaced as often as possible. Peace, hope and love is my long thought out phrase of choice.

  7. As any good aussie always says, ‘no worries!’ or any variation on that form :)

  8. I guess “be peaced” is out of the question for me now?

I really like “love God, love people” – it’s easy to remember, hard to do . . .

  9. Amy

I like be peaced. seriously have my own vocabulary although I steal most of my phrases from movies or lyrics from cool songs..

  10. be peaced is a pretty sweet. Personally I’m a fan of “keep your shirt on” but I don’t think that would always be an appropriate ending to a post. Oh well ^_^ sometimes I end mine with “*hugs, love and prayer*”

  11. hmmm, i always end everything i write with “love love love” i guess because i have taken time out of my life to share something with you and i do it because of lots of love (but that is gay) and love is just not enough. but i would like something a little better, but for now, that’s it. and when i dont end with it, people i write often get upset (spoiled brats).

yours is cooler, but you are brody, not me, so it makes sense, you cool bastard (in the nicest way ever, dont get offended people)

  12. The phrase most associated with me is “Oh my yummy,” when eating something delicious. It is very, very profound.

How bout, when referring to your friends you say, “Yeah, these are my… Shalom-boys.” Or Shalomies, for short.

  13. Just A Passer By

“Keep your head up. Cause when your lookin up your lookin to Jesus.” I know it’s long, but I like it.

  14. I like that “be peaced” a lot. I was thinking about what my signing out phrase would be and I’m thinking of “with joy”. One of my fav scriptures is in Phillipians 1 (below) where Paul (and Timothy) seemed to really emote love to the church of Philippi. I feel like “with joy” kinda leaves it on a pleasant, hopeful note..and makes me think of this passage:

3I thank my God every time I remember you. 4In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

7It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart; for whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. 8God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

9And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, 11filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

  15. OH! I got another one.

Cool beans and Rice. I used to say that a lot. Nothing deep or anything, but I said it a lot.

Also, son of a monkey’s behind.

  16. Hi Brody, “be peaced” is awesome for one can never go wrong filled with the peace of God which only resonates from trusting and have complete faith in Him. I, on the other hand, have lots of phrases such as “In Christ,” “Blessings,” “Yours Truly,” “In Christ Alone,”…but most often, “Love,” or “Love In Christ.”
