Last night was the first night of Blue’s baseball practice. We got the glove, the shoes, the bat, and made our way to the field to meet his team. Blue did great. He gave appropriate high-fives, rolled around in as much dirt as possible, and even hit a “home run”. His team is the Angels, despite his vote for the team to be called the “Mighty Warriors”.
I haven’t had much time to get excited about Blue’s first baseball season, but after going to his first practice yesterday, I am totally excited about the season and watching him play. We have already practiced this morning in the living room and we are getting ready to head outside for a little more practice. I played baseball from the time I was seven until I graduated high school, so it’s fun to start that that all over again.

I don’t know what it is, but baseball is a great sport for anyone to play. It just is a good sport for kids to learn to communicate, have sportsmanship, get out and do something, and did I mention its fun? I played from when I was around 5 or 6 up till I was about 16, and then after high school I coached a couple teams. Its always good fun.
For me, it’s basketball with my daughter.
There’s just something about sports that give you that “in” with all sorts of life lessons - “it’s like when you were playing baseball” will become a metaphor you use over and over again.
Enjoy it. Great pictures, BTW . . .
Hey son, Does he look like a 1st baseman? His Dad was the very best..
Love you, Mom
huh … they didn’t go for the “mighty warriors”? that’s strange. that would fit perfectly on the front of a jersey.
I love those pictures. It was so awesome to watch him play!
I’m glad he got the baseball gene from you. When I tried out for the softball team, it took one hit on my cold hand, and I dropped my bat and walked home!
He did awesome, I’m so excited too!
So cute. . . he looks so grown up!!
wow thats crazy huh. cant believe its that time already. the years just fly by.
He is so cute! I love watching baseball games, sitting in the grass watching my boy PLAY. There is just something about it.
Yeah, go Blue!
