I Went To Church Tonight

church.jpgI went to church tonight with 6,000 youth. My new friends in Fee played at a youth event in Beaumont, TX. Tonight was the first time I have heard them play, and on top of that, the first time I have even heard their songs.

I started out taking some pictures and walking around, not really paying attention. I’ve had to deal with a bunch of crap the last couple days that has really distracted me from what I am doing out here, and taken way too much of my mind. I have spent the last two days focussing so much on something negative in the midst of a really exciting time. I have been blessed to (again) stumble into a job that I had no idea I would have a great time doing, and meeting people that I genuinely like to be around. There is no reason to focus on crap that is intended to bring me down.

About halfway through Fee’s set I put down the camera, walked out in the crowd and went to church. The guys led an amazing time of worship, and it felt like a weight was lifted and the last few days slipped away.

  1. good to see you again tonight. see you tomorrow..ill tell you some good places to grab lunch

  2. Fee has some awesome music.

  3. it’s great that you were able to stop for awhile and just be brody – a child of the King. sometimes we just need sit at the feet of God and let His spirit wash over us. when you are walking in His will, powerful things will happen, especially when we remember why we’re doing it.

  4. Amen and I concur that no matter what we do with God in the midst of it, it is great to just sit by His feet and enjoy His awesomeness–amazing grace as we praise Him for all He has done, is doing, and will do. God bless!

  5. That is awesome! When that happens for me its always like when I really, really need it and it makes the worship so much more sincere.

  6. That’s when you know you’re walking where God’s leading you, when the “crap” starts happening. Satan tries doing these little things just to distract us. Don’t fall for it and let it get you down. Little does Satan know that he’s already defeated and these distractions only make God’s blessing for us that much sweeter. “I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Ps 34:1

  7. So glad you got to hear & meet FEE. They really are great guys, and doing what they do for all the right reasons. I think Steve is writing the best worship music out there right now—both lyrically and musically. Enjoy!

  8. It’s always nice and refreshing to lay it all down and lose yourself in worship to the majestic God!
